I am a visual artist based in West London. I have done printmaking for many years gaining a B Tech in printing and fine art from Kensington and Chelsea College whilst working full time in the care sector. Since retiring in 2011, I have studied sculpture, portraiture and collage at the City Lit and work mainly now in mixed media which allows me to incorporate all these disciplines. I work mostly from the imagination and intuitively allowing the work to emerge and evolve in an unplanned way. Recently I have also taken up ceramics. I’ve spent over 20 years capturing the essence of pets, people, and wildlife in pastel. Alongside creating original paintings and prints, I take commissions and share my passion through teaching. I believe everyone has the potential to create beautiful art, but many just need encouragement and guidance to begin. My local classes are designed to inspire and support budding artists on their journey. Whether you’d like to commission a piece, explore my work, or join a class, I’d love to hear from you. For me, art is not just a profession—it’s a lifelong passion.

Di paints in her South Bank Studio, York. She studied BA Art & Design at
Manchester and MA at Birmingham where she developed her style of
drawing and colour appreciation. Her bold style captures the rhythm of
organic forms in the natural world.
Her paintings are inspired by still life, landscape, and ceramic ware and
are primarily in oil on canvas or board and of medium to large scale. She
employs a degree of lyrical abstraction and playfulness and builds
layers of paint to create texture and a lush surface of colour.
Di's paintings have been exhibited across the north of England, most
recently at 'Rise' in York (Oct-Dec 2025), at York Hospital (2025), the
Pyramid Gallery, York (2024) and Dean Clough Gallery, Halifax (2022),
and are housed in private collections in England and Canada.
After graduation (1978) Di worked for couture fabric designers in
Switzerland and later in the UK textile industry. In 1989 Di was the
recipient of a Scottish Arts Council Award that heralded her return to
fine art and painting. Di was delighted that her painting 'Cap Ferret' was

Born in Glasgow and now living in Devon, I paint from memories, family photos, and archives that spark a feeling or impression. Working in oil over acrylic, I layer, scrape back, and rework the surface, letting earlier images peek through, much like how we remember and forget. My paintings shift between the figurative and the abstract, never fully revealing their subjects but holding onto a sense of experience. I hope these glimpses connect with viewers, stirring memories of their own through a familiar object, place, or colour..

I use ceramic techniques to capture and preserve things of beauty and importance. Currently, my work focuses on two diverse areas; domestic handicraft skills, such as crochet, and locally found wild plants.
Preserving the skills of my female ancestors is important to me and detailed crocheted pieces created by my great grandmother can often be seen within my work.
The intricate nature of wild plants can also be captured and preserved. By pressing them into porcelain and adapting my glazes, I can highlight details which are often overlooked. Porcelain is a wonderful medium to capture fine details and reveal unexpected treasures!

I studied Drawing and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art. I am passionate
about nature, plants and the countryside.
My inspiration comes from the natural world - from direct observation of plants and the landscape. I then work from my imagination, creating illustrative, highly stylised and decorative images whilst still including elements from nature.
I design and simplify the content in order to provide a composition of lines and shapes to create a decorative result. Following careful planning, I work in watercolour, building up glazes creating smooth gradients and an intensity of hue. I use minute dry brushwork for detail.

The sunbird has long been a symbol of light, vitality, and
resilience, tiny in size, yet radiant with life and colour. In this
collection of three originals, capturing the delicate beauty and
spirit of these remarkable birds, each piece reflects the intimate
balance between fragility and strength found in nature.
Every stroke is a study in observation and reverence: the shimmer
of iridescent feathers, the elegant curve of a beak, the glint of
sunlight caught in motion. The collection brings to life not only
the likeness of the birds, but also their essence, a celebration of
the wild energy that threads through the natural world.
Together, these works speak as a chorus: a tribute to
conservation, an honouring of the overlooked, and a reminder of
the wonder that surrounds us when we pause to truly see.
My art is rooted in my passion for conservation and belief that
creativity can give voice to the creatures that so often go
unnoticed. Through these sunbirds, she invites viewers to carry
forward the same sense of awe and respect for nature that inspires
her every day.

I am always experimenting with new ways of expression.

Gouache on board
I produce paintings on location and in one sitting be they landscape or interior. Working from primary observation I have developed a method and technique that is both expressive and direct. The challenge of creating a successful painting in sometimes adverse conditions — from rain and snow storm to darkened corridor or church — adds to the experience of the process of painting. All works are produced on board, with the landscapes in oil and interiors in gouache, the dark contrasting tones of the interiors counter-balancing the softer harmonious perspectives used in the landscapes. The use of perspective and light is a dominant theme in all of my work. The depth and movement within each composition enables the painting to come to life. A view must be memorable, distinctive and inspirational whether it be an overlooked corridor or hidden valley - with the process of looking and determining composition sometimes taking place several years before a painting is actually made.I work swiftly, sometimes generating up to four paintings a day. Most works are small scale for reasons of practicality, especially when working in the landscape and walking considerable distances over mountainous terrain, or when crammed into a corner to obtain a view to a window or through a doorway. I am represented by Ffin y Parc Gallery in Llanrwst where I have an annual solo show and a continual rolling rotation of new work’.

My painting career started when I left university. I’d always loved drawing and painting and decided to develop my skills and become an artist. I spent my time in the countryside painting landscapes. In 2000 I started exhibiting with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries in London. I was elected an associate member in 2003 and a full member in 2005.

With her love of the ocean, together with how well it can be portrayed using resin, she is constantly inspired to create gorgeous atmospheric seascapes.

Born in Cologne, raised in the United States, and now settled in Ware, Hertfordshire, I draw inspiration from the town’s natural beauty, particularly the River Lea and Amwell Nature Reserve. My artistic journey began unexpectedly, growing from a love of art into a dedicated practice from my home studio. I work under the pseudonym @warethewomanwent, originally created to support local businesses during the pandemic and to showcase the charm of Ware. Today, it also represents my artwork, which I sign and date discreetly on the reverse. My style is influenced by Monet, Kandinsky, and Vettriano, blending emotion, light, and atmosphere.

Oil on Paper
My art journey began at North Manchester College in 1984. I
immediately felt at home. Ever since art has become an
increasing passion. In my two years at the college, I received a
good grounding in drawing. From my degree at Staffordshire
Polytechnic, I learned visual literacy and how to develop my
own artistic voice.
lived in Stoke until 2002 during which time I played a key role
in setting up Stoke on Trent Artist Cooperative and artists'
studios in an old silk mill in Leek, Staffordshire. We hosted open
studios and put on other exhibitions in the city. We were invited
to exhibit in the City Museum and Art Gallery.
As a family we moved to Stratford upon Avon in 2002 when for
many years my focus was on raising a family.
I now consider myself a painter and budding printmaker.

I started painting 15 years ago with my daughter also what I wanted for Christmas. I suggested something to do with art. I received a small start last and have been painting ever since. I joined Brigthouse Art Centre soon afterwards and found it friendly and helpful. My art has improved since then. My main interest is patriating lost dogs and humans, but also have been successful with landscapes, I prefer watercolour that use pastels oils, acrylics as well.

1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
