Winchester Portrait Exhibition Auction

The Winchester Portrait exhibition will be displaying photographs of people who have made an impression on local life through their work and activities and who live in, or come from, Hampshire.  The portraits have been taken by photographer Michael Butters and will be supported with artwork and sculpture by local artist Nadine Collinson.
We will host the exhibition 26th April – 2nd May 2017 at The Great Hall, Winchester with help from Eileen Berry who was the Mayor of Winchester 2014/2015.  We hope to raise money for Winchester Cathedral, PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) at Southampton General Hospital and The Murray Parish Trust #2 Million Steps Campaign. The exhibition will be presented in association with The Peter Cooper Motor Group and Paris Smith LLP.
Over 100 subjects have been photographed for the exhibition from wide and varied walks of life including celebrities, public figures and many “unsung heroes” who have given many years of service to some tremendous organisations throughout Winchester and Hampshire.
A book will accompany the exhibition which includes the portraits and articles about the portrait subjects and their diverse and fascinating stories.  The book will be on sale during the exhibition and in local shops after the exhibition has concluded, and you can also purchase it via this page - just click on the Pop Up Shop button above.  In addition, we are running a silent auction online for the month of April and throughout the exhibition week.  Bidding on the auction items is available now on this page, and will close at 8.00 p.m. on 2nd May 2017.

When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
