Make a Pledge and help RHET continue to educate Scottish school children about food and the working countryside.
Our aim is to provide every child in Scotland with an opportunity to learn about food, farming and the countryside. RHET strives to engage with all young people in Scotland at least three times during their school years.
It currently costs in the region of £400k to deliver RHET services every year. The Scottish Government have pledged £180k towards these costs for the next three years. This leaves £220k to find to cover our core operating costs, at the same time as looking to expand our work as the demand from schools for RHET services continues to exceed capacity both for classroom talks and farm visits.
£100 will help RHET to create an early years’ resource box for a primary school allowing children to begin to learn about farming, food and the countryside from a young age.
£300 will pay the travel costs for a class of 30 primary school children to visit a farm.
£1,000 will provide essential training in health and safety for our volunteers so they can make sure farm visits are safe as well as fun.
We will be delighted to receive pledges for any amount with all donations helping RHET to realise its potential and to spread its wings.
