Welcome to the RGS HW Bat Oar Ball Online Auction!
We have received many prizes from local businesses, parents, alumni and supporters of the school and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kind and generous donations.
Each year The Bat Oar Ball raises funds to support sports at the school, including cricket, rugby, hockey and rowing as well as fencing, basketball and badminton to name a few. RGS has a proud history and tradition of sporting provision and sport plays an important part in the curricular, extra-curricular and social life of the school.
Without your support, RGS would be unable to offer such a wide range of sporting activities, enabling boys of all abilities to participate, or field the huge numbers of teams in the all-year round calendar of fixtures from inter house matches to national competitions.
We would like to thank you for your continuing support and generosity when bidding for these items and hope you find something you like!
The auction is open to bid online until 12 noon on 7th February 2020 ahead of the Ball on Saturday 8th February 2020. Bidding will reopen on the night of the Bat Oar Ball and will only be available at the venue.
If you are unable to attend the Ball you can still give yourself the best chance of winning by placing a proxy (maximum) bid on this page. We will carry your bid over to the silent auction on the night and continue bidding for you up to your maximum. You will be contacted after the Dinner if your bid has been successful.
For more details of how to bid online, just click on the Auction Guide below.Close.
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
