Cheerleading has such a strong youth focus, it's popularity has grown amongst all age groups from 4 years to adults. Cheerleading was further elevated in popularity when it was granted 'Provisional Status' by the International Olympic Committee in 2016, placing the sport on the pathway for possible inclusion in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Red Hot Flames, established in 1996 by Suzanne Roberts, started out as a set of senior girls who performed at the Salford City Reds rugby matches, which created plenty of interest! The team grew over time, attracting youngsters of all ages.

The Red Hot Flames' programme promotes fun, teamwork, confidence and sportsmanship and ensures all children are praised for their accomplishments and commitment to the sport.

Now, with150 members, they have since gained regional, national and grand champion titles and have enjoyed success in European and World Championships.

While Red Hot Flames' achievements are a testament to their athletes and coaching team's dedication, they are in danger of becoming victims of their own success. Due to the training facilities being shared, and therefore multipurpose, they are currently unable to offer their athletes such benefits as permanent professional tumbling facilities and the all-important full size, competition standard Harlequin dance floor, which is essential when competing at National or International level.

The athleticism and developments within the sport of cheerleading mean they also need to look to the future and provide a coaching development structure.

Red Hot Flames are seeking support in two areas: to improve training facilities and to provide educational opportunities for the forthcoming generation of coaches. They are hoping to ensure the region's young athletes can continue to advance in the sport of cheerleading at National and International events. They strive to offer the local community the opportunity to develop skills safely and efficiently within their programme, whilst promoting sports culture in their region.

I hope you will support the Red Hot Flames in reaching their goals.
All donations will be gratefully received.

Many thanks,
