An auction of 100 original pieces of art works produced by award winning, acclaimed and emerging artists from the UK and USA. 100 artworks capturing beyond words the strength, hope and desire to embrace life inspired by 100 women who have shared their scars as part of the UK Scars of Gold campaign.
This campaign concept was produced by Dr Liz Murray BCA(h) who was presented with the British Citizen Award for her services to health. Dr Liz Murray is an award winning doctor and artist who left her clinical role as a doctor after ten years of service due to facing her own life changing health issues. Working alongside campaign co-director and photographer Sammy Weston, the two volunteered a year of their time and skills for free to produce this incredible campaign to support the charity Mortal And Strong.
Mortal And Strong is a UK charity that is the first and only one of its kind: providing a centralised place of support and guidance for anyone facing any health condition in the prime of their life. Whilst using innovative art-inspired campaigns to capture the public's attention to promote health awareness, address stigma of disease and promote health equality, the charity is building a unique set of support services to help people navigate the health care system and rebuild their life after life changing or life limiting health conditions. Mortal And Strong is a UK registered charity (CIO No. 1209448). Providing medical-professional led support, reinforced by voices of lived experience and working with higher organisations to deliver national change in health care. Working to be a centralised place of support to ensure equality in health for any one with any health condition.
