Building Fund
As a Voluntary Aided School we only receive 90% of funding for any capital projects from the Government and, unlike other maintained schools, we are required to raise the remaining 10% from voluntary contributions. Without those contributions, those capital projects, such as any building works, ICT projects etc cannot go ahead.
Therefore, we ask parents or friends/supporters of our College to make contributions to our Building Fund. Parents are asked to contribute £10 per month, but any contributions you feel you are able to make are greatly appreciated.
To complete our Direct Debit Mandate to make your contributions please use this link:

Join our College Lottery to raise funds

Listed 28 Apr 2017 • Item No: 5183
Join our College Lottery to raise funds
We have launched the new Christ the King College Lottery on the 8th April 2017, a lottery designed specifically for schools. Parents, staff and friends of Christ the King College who pay into the new School Lot-tery will be winners, as well as the College.
This new lottery guarantees that one of our support-ers will be a winner every week. The amount of the weekly prize fund depends on how many people play, currently our minimum weekly prize fund is £60.. So the more that enter, the higher the prize.
The School Lottery will be drawn every Saturday. You are also entered in the national draw, with a chance to win £25,000 a week and there are other prizes to be won every month, sign up by 28th October and you might win an Amazon Echo Dot.
We hope that many of you will join to support us and win! So far 202 tickets have been entered and this will raise a projected annual fund of £4,201.10 . Just think - if we can double or treble this number—how much you will be raising towards our £150,000 target!
We are comfortable to support this type of fundraising within our Christian Ethos, as this is not a “lottery” run as the other commercial lottery companies run theirs. It is run primarily for charitable organisations only, on a non-profit basis; all of the proceeds from this are purely used for chari-ties and are therefore classed as charitable donations. In a way, it would be the same as parents making a donation to the College on a weekly basis, just that those who support are also able to win a prize. Many Church schools and even Churches and Parishes themselves are now using these type of lotteries to raise the much needed funds in the absence of any sufficient funding.
We hope that considering the benefit of this fundraising you will feel able to support it.

Recycle with Michael: Clothing and Textiles

Listed 28 Apr 2017 • Item No: 5182
Recycle with Michael: Clothing and Textiles
Textiles are the UK’s fastest growing household waste stream. By re-using and recycling textiles we can greatly reduce the amount we send to landfill and give unwanted items a new lease of life.
At Christ the King College, we have joined the ‘Recycle with Michael’ scheme. Funds generated from your donations are split between Christ the King College and The Salvation Army’s valuable welfare work across the UK.
Clothing banks are located on both the Upper and Lower College sites. Please support us by donating any of the following items:
Shoes (in pairs)
Clothing
Handbags
Belts
Bed linens / blankets
Towels
Items should be clean and dry. Don’t worry if items are damaged as they could still be recycled into items such as mattress stuffing, car soundproofing and industrial wipers.

Raise funds for us while you shop
Many people regularly use the internet to purchase goods and services. Now you can raise money for Christ the King College as you do so, at no extra cost!
Just register on the Easy Fundraising website as a supporter of Christ the King College and then search for your preferred shop or supplier. Shop as you normally would do and a percentage of your order will be donated to the College. There are over 2,700 retailers to choose from, including Amazon, Sainsbury's, Argos, Boots, Expedia, Tesco, John Lewis and M&S.
Many retailers offer Easy Fundraising shoppers exclusive discounts and special offers such as free P&P.
Imagine if all of our 1500 families registered and booked their holidays or did their online grocery shopping using Easy Fundraising. We could easily raise tens of thousands of pounds at no extra cost!
When you change house or car insurance, energy providers or Broadbank and TV, use the link on Easyfundraising to compare. This will also give a donation to our fundraising.
Once you have registers you can even add your credit/debit cards you use regularly and this will then also raise funds for us every time you shop with your cards on the high street. There is also the option to download the EasyFundraising Reminder to your computer so it automatically detects and reminds you every time you browse the internet if the retailer is offering donations for your visit/purchase.
It really does what it says—raise funds easily!
Just visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ctkc to register and start shopping...

Buy-a-Brick Scheme launched

Listed 28 Apr 2017 • Item No: 5179
Buy-a-Brick Scheme launched
We are sure that many of you would like to be part of our exciting New Build project or have a way of commemorating your own or your child’s attendance at our College or the previous two middle schools.
We are, therefore, pleased to be able to offer you this unique opportunity to leave your mark and be part of this ex-citing journey by offering you the opportunity to purchase a range of wall tiles/plaques and/or paving stones that enable you to leave a momentum for yourself or your child or to get recognition as a supporter or sponsor of the College. You may choose the wording to be en-graved on the paver or tile. Either two lines on the single paver or four lines on the dou-ble paver. This could be your family name and the dates children were at the schools, or in memory of a loved one, once associated with either the two schools or Christ the King College. These plaques and pavers will be installed in a prominent location at the entrance to our new College building at its completion in 2019 and will leave a lasting memory or dedication for all those who participated in this project.
To see the options available and to purchase your own wall tile or paving stone, please go to the following site:
https://christtheking-newbuild.co.uk/
If you, or someone you know, had children at Archbishop King Catholic Middle School or Trinity Church of England Middle School, this is a wonderful opportunity to leave your mark once the original buildings have been demolished. Also, for our current students, this will be a lasting reminder of time spent at Christ the King College. Please also pass this information on to anyone you feel may be interested who has had an association with us in the past.
