I am raising awareness and funds for the Thymic Cancer for Bay Hospitals Charity because they save lives funding the Oncology Department

Many people feel that Janet Wilkes (pictured with wine!), my great friend and mentor, is one in a million, it turns out she is one in a million and a half as she has a very rare form of cancer called Thymic Cancer. This is where malignant (cancer) cells form on the outside surface of the thymus. The thymus, a small organ that lies in the upper chest under the breast bone ,is part of the lymph system. It makes white blood cells that protect the body against infections.

Janet has always lived life in the fast lane with everything at 100 miles an hour, her mind never stops thinking and spending time with Janet you often feel you have been in a whirlwind, with her endless wisdom and tireless enthusiasm. She has changed Saddle Fitting in the North of England creating Just Saddles, either making a difficult horse more comfortable or coming up with ideas to make a humans job easier. Janet is very straight talking, if you can keep up- like a moth that flits from one conversation to another, with a massive heart that always has time to ask how you are, "keep looking after yourself", " you can do it" and " we will sort it once we have a game plan ".

The Oncology department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary( supported by Bay Hospitals Charity) have worked tirelessly to treat Janet, however, this type of Cancer is so rare and unpredictable, so every penny will count in research and treatment.

To my own admission I'm built more like " Valegro " than "Red Rum " , so to run a marathon is a massive challenge, but I have a base fitness and I'm sure the next 3 months will present its challenges. I have some great friend to spur me along the way and of course my powder puff Oreo will be by my side ( although not for the long runs!)

Its my mission to raise awareness and funds for this rare condition to help research and hope to find ways of treating this unusual form of Cancer. By running the Blackpool Marathon on 22nd April 2018 its close to Janet roots and mine ( AND its flat !!!),

I am holding this auction with great thanks to Andrea Wilson for donating this wonderful prize.

Please help me by joining into this auction and let me finish the fundraising achieving my target of £10,000 raised for this most special cause.

Do share away as every bid counts.
