The frozen Lake St. Moritz is transformed into an international hotspot. On the racecourse, established jockeys and their noble thoroughbreds will be showing fast-paced gallop races as well as the world-exclusive skijoring.
Join more than 30,000 people travelling to the Engadin mountains to enjoy the thrilling atmosphere at the horse races on frozen Lake St. Moritz. International professional jockeys race their spirited horses at terrific speed across the snow, causing the air to buzz with excitement. Undisputed highlight is the skijöring, a spectacular form of racing found only in St. Moritz: competitors are on skis, pulled by riderless thoroughbreds at speeds of up to 50 km/h along the 2,700-metre course. The feat demands equal measures of courage, skill, strength and fitness.
The large tent city, covering an area of 130,000 sq.m, offers attractions to guests of all ages including live music, gastronomic delicacies, shopping and a childrens play area. A colourful crowd of horse lovers, jockeys, trainers, owners, helpers, visitors, locals and celebrity guests ensures a glamorous atmosphere that has made the legendary event one of the highlights of the winter season.
Like many sporting events, Horse Racing in St Moritz is subject to the correct weather conditions and the lake being sufficiently frozen. The racing has only been cancelled twice in the last 30 meetings so it is very likely you will see the racing but in the event of racing being cancelled, the show goes on with music, bars, hospitality and entertainment.

Jonny switched from writing to millinery a decade ago. Self-taught, he began making hats from upcycled coats, scarves and antique textiles. Sustainability remains at the core of his founder-led label. Championing local mills and small artisan weavers, his own team is based out of his workroom in the Yorkshire Dales. Hats should endure, and Jonny's pieces are timeless and epitomise slow fashion. No fabric is wasted, any surplus crafted into the smallest pill box, cuffs and hairbands.

His hats are much coveted and he has collaborated with the likes of Alice Temperley and Katherine Hooker.

Commissioned by the late Mrs Susan Harvey this quirky amusing piece is a unique one-off sculpture by Caroline Wallace standing 27cm Length, 16cm Width, 25cm Height.

Caroline Wallace was drawing and sketching animals from an early age but after her son was born, over 30 years ago, she broke her leg badly and was unable to work, so she had to find another income. Her aunt was a successful sculptor and helped Caroline develop her career as a sculptress.
After starting with commissions for clients, specialising in horses and dogs, she broadened her scope to other animals and birds as well as portraiture and even a tall ship. There followed life size orders including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s racehorse ‘Special Cargo’ for Sandown Park racecourse and ‘Double Trigger’ for Doncaster racecourse, also the Grand National winner ‘Lord Gyllene’ for his owner Sir Stan Clarke who commissioned two statues; one for the Animal Health Trust at Newmarket and one for his garden in Staffordshire. Other commissions include Trevor Hemmings two Grand National winners ‘Hedgehunter’ and ‘Ballabriggs’.

Giffords Circus is a vintage village green circus that tours the UK every summer. Giffords is much more than a Circus, it’s a magical nod to old fashioned circus with a glamorous twist. It’s a side-splitting show directed by comedy genius Cal McCrystal that appeals to both young and old, and with a cult following of local farmers, rock stars and A-list celebrities. Step inside the tent into a colourful madcap world of acrobats, jugglers, horses, musicians, and dancers. A production that would rival any West End show.

"This mixed media collage is a unique tribute to National Hunt racing.

A tapestry woven from fragments of the connections that support I Am Maximus - snippets of pundit's commentary, betting predictions, Racing Post front pages, combined with stills from Ridley Scott's, Gladiator. There is even a hidden nod to Russell Crowe if you look closely.

The layered textures and intersecting elements echo the drama and mythology of this legend of a horse, blurring sport, story, and spectacle into one piece. "

Didmarton Point-to-Point course located just off the A46 on the A433 in the village of Didmarton is home to the Duke of Beaufort’s Hunt Point-to-Point Fixture run every year on the first Saturday in March. It is an undulating course on a hillside so makes for excellent viewing. It has been noted as a well organized and popular meeting with plenty of tradestands and good parking. With good refreshment facilities and if you dress for warmth, it makes a great day out for the family and the seasoned racegoer. It celebrated its 70th Anniversary as the venue for the hunts point-to-point meeting in 2017 and up until 1956 was also used as the steeplechase course for the world famous Badminton Horse Trials.
The course has produced some big race winners such as COOL DAWN (winner of the 1998 Cheltenham Gold Cup), RUSHING WILD (winner of the Cheltenham Foxhunters and 2nd in the Gold Cup), EARTHMOVER (a winner of the Cheltenham Foxhunters twice) and KATARINO (winner of the Triumph hurdle and the Aintree Foxhunter twice). SANTINI (winner of the Cheltenham Cotswold Chase and 2nd in the Cheltenham Gold Cup)

David Pipe was born to train racehorses. Son of Martin Pipe CBE, fifteen times champion National Hunt trainer, and the most successful jumps trainer in British racing history, David fast carved a niche for himself as an extremely successful and talented Point-to-Point trainer. Indeed, during his six seasons as a trainer of Pointers, David amassed no fewer than 164 winners

Since his father’s retirement from training, David has channelled his talents towards the Pond House string – a role which has provided a varied, challenging and rewarding role alongside his record-breaking father who now is his assistant.

David’s fledgling career met with unparalleled success, indeed his first winner Standin Obligation was quickly followed by two more, Wee Dinns and Papillon De Lena making it a treble for the day. By the end of the season the tally stood at 134 winners — David had finished third in the trainers championship and had along the way become the first trainer to saddle one hundred winners in his debut season and also landed his first Cheltenham Festival winner, Gaspara, in the 2007 Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle who was owned by his father.

Since then the rich tradition of success at the highest level has continued and Pond House racing stables remains the winning most training establishment in Great Britain. During his tenure David has enjoyed victory at every jumps track in Britain as well as at all of the most prestigious meetings; a Grand National winner, 15 Cheltenham Festival winners and a Hennessy Gold Cup over jumps as well as a Royal Ascot winner and Chester Cup success. He has also surpassed the 1,000 career winner mark, all of which means that the Pipe name remains synonymous with success within the horse racing industry.
