Cancer Fund for Children Online Auction

At Cancer Fund for Children (charity Reg no. NIC100532), we support children and young people (aged 0-24) who have been diagnosed with cancer, their siblings and also young people who are struggling to cope with their parent’s cancer.

Cancer treatment is frightening, challenging, and isolating and can devastate families emotionally, physically, and financially. For a diagnosed child, months of gruelling treatment and its side effects can impact their mental health, their education, and their friendships.

Our mission is simple - to support every child impacted by cancer, so they are better equipped to cope in the knowledge that they are not alone.

From the point of diagnosis our team of Cancer Support Specialists are here to help, guide and support young people at home, in their community, and at our therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, in Newcastle, Co. Down. 

Last year thanks to your generosity we:

• Supported over 1,500 children and young people impacted by cancer

• Provided 765 individual support sessions to children and young people

• Provided 408 families with a nurturing and therapeutic short break

• Delivered 902 complementary therapies to family members

• Delivered 863 group support sessions in the community and at our residential centre

• Ran 22 residentials providing peer support to young people impacted by cancer

• Supported 140 parents through our Education Days& Wellbeing mini breaks

• Empowered 13 young people to complete their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award

Cancer won’t stop during the coronavirus pandemic and neither will we. With each day we spend at home, during these challenging times, families are struggling with the emotional impact of cancer. Our families tell us that they couldn’t cope without Cancer Fund for Children’s support and demand for our services is only going to increase throughout this crisis.
