The Daxtonbury Festival of Music And Country Life is a three-day, family-friendly, festival held in the village of Podington, just to the south of Rushden. This low key festival began life as an end of season party for friends and family of local fisheries owner Dax Miller but, following the death of his close friend Chris Kelly in 2009, it was decided to expand the event into a full-on festival in order to raise money for various medical charities in Northamptonshire, Bucks and Bedfordshire.
This year over thirty bands from near and far have waived their appearance fees and agreed to play the festival. Rap, rock, reggae, rhythm’n’blues, occasional singer-songwriters and covers bands will all take to the purpose built stage to entertain the crowds during the three day event.
Daxtonbury is about the chill and the vibe. There will be no Coldplay or Adele but the loos (probably) won't overflow and the ticket price, that won’t leave you broke for the rest of the year, will go towards helping to support a range of important local charities.
