Robert Taylor's incredible painting gives a pilot's-eye view of the last seconds of a Mirage V at the hands of 801 Naval Air Squadron's CO, Cdr 'Sharkey' Ward. Flying Sea Harriers from HMS Invincible on 21st May 1982 in a ferocious dogfight during the Battle of Falkland Sound, 'Sharkey' Ward and his wingman Lt Steve Thomas brought down two Mirage aircraft, and damaged a third - their contribution to the 20 enemy aircraft that failed to return that day. This is your chance to secure your place among the limited number of teams taking part in this invitation-only event. Your team of three will be joined by a member of the RHGC as per Club rules.

The BFF Golf Day takes place in May/June 2026 (date to be confirmed). Teams will be served early morning refreshments on arrival before the competition gets underway. Once the tournament ends there’s time for a drink and change of attire in the Pavilion before a wonderful lunch and the prize-giving.

Tucked away within the historic grounds of Windsor Castle - residence of BFF Patron His Majesty King Charles III - The Royal Household Golf Club remains one of the most exclusive and lesser-known golfing treasures. Established in the early 20th century, The Royal Household Golf Club was the vision of King George V and the 9-hole course was designed to offer the royal family and their esteemed guests a private golfing sanctuary. Over the decades, the club has witnessed numerous royal rounds, each adding to its rich tapestry of history. Today the club continues to uphold its legacy of exclusivity and elegance.

The parkland course created by Samuel Mure Fergusson in 1901, though seemingly modest and compact, offers a challenging and diverse golfing experience, with small greens, tight fairways, strategic bunkers and a diverse landscape of mature trees - and there is, of course, the back-drop of Windsor Castle!
