We held the Mancunian Spray on the 15th September and transformed a city centre car park into a stunning gallery of street art. Graffiti and street artists from around the country came together for the event and gave the public the chance to watch renowned artists at work.
We’re now putting some of that artwork up for auction along with lots of other donated pieces in order to raise money for The Mayor’s Homelessness Fund.
In the evening we also held Art Battle Manchester, where the legendary musician Peter Hook helped to provide the soundtrack. A bass guitar painted by local street artist Jay Sharples and signed by Peter Hook is also up for auction.
The aim of the Mayor’s Homelessness fund is to end rough sleeping in Manchester by 2020 through innovative initiatives such as:
- Building specialised supported accommodation for young people with access to education, volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Expanding mental health and rehabilitation programmes across Greater Manchester, including re-building community mental health support, recovery-led accommodation and arts programmes.
- Bringing empty properties back in to use for people threatened with becoming homeless.
All auction pieces must be collected from city-centre Manchester by the winner.
Thank you for bidding!!!
