Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA) is a registered charity association
in the Algarve, Portugal. Our principal objective is to rescue lost and
abandoned animals and rehabilitate them for adoption.
We pride ourselves in having one of the best animal shelters
in Portugal, with environmentally friendly kennels that can accommodate up to
100 dogs and a cattery for up to 50 cats,
Every animal receives exceptional veterinary care, sterilization & microchip. Every
dog is walked twice a day and spends the rest of the day playing freely in one
of the many playgrounds, in order to encourage socialization with other dogs
and people.
To run the shelter, it costs more than 700,000€ a year and without
any government funding, our only source of income is from our three charity shops
(Wooff), or from the general public.
We are holding our annual fundraising event this year on November 8th at Sandbanks Restaurant in Vale do Lobo, Algarve, Portugal .
We are holding this auction with some fantastic items, in order to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause. The online auction will allow people to bid on all of the items, irrespective to whether they can attend the event or not.
A selection of items will go to the LIVE auction so in order to still be in with a chance, please remember to put your maximum bid on these items so we can bid on your behalf.
The auction contains items that will revert the total amount bid to ARA, and other items where the difference between the winning bid and the reserve price will revert to ARA.

Loch Lomond Golf Club is one of the worlds finest private Members clubs and the privilege of playing it is limited to Members and those they invite to play with them.
Paul & Melody Cotterill are members and they are willing to host two people to play with them in July or August 2026. In addition they are offering to accommodate them at their gorgeous home in Helensburgh, which is 15 minutes away from the club.
Paul and Melody adopted their dog Freddie with ARA’s help and now she enjoys walking the course with them.
The package includes:
2 nights accommodation ( sharing double or twin room with ensuite) Breakfasts at the house or Loch Lomond golf Club.
Dinners and drinks at venues to be agreed.
Transfer from Helensburgh to the golf Club.
