Art for Air is an art charity auction organised by Green Queensbridge. Its aim is to raise funds to combat the ever-increasing high levels of pollution that the children of Queensbridge Primary School are currently subjected to by providing more green spaces and cleaner air.
Our whole-hearted thanks to all the donations from the very talented artists, agents and galleries.
“Queensbridge Primary School is an amazing Hackney state school for over 527 local children and families.
But air pollution around the school nearly doubles the legal limit at peak times and our kids playground is a barren tarmac wasteland. Over 50% of our community don’t have access to a garden at home, over 34% of us suffer from asthma and we have a high proportion of special educational needs (37%).
We need to do something radical! So we are raising funds for a much needed transformation of the playground to include trees, sensory plants and SEN playground provisions to create new play areas for the children as well as help improve the air quality in our inner city London neighbourhood.”
