David co-curated the exhibition "Drawing the Unspeakable" with his daughter, Liza Dimbleby, in which this piece featured. The exhibition, at The Towner Gallery in Eastbourne, was inspired by drawings exchanged between David and Liza during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition explored drawing as a universal language that can convey complex ideas and emotions, from war and birth to love and family.

Victoria Threlfall is a local artist with an international reputation and this lovely piece was painted from a drawing that Victoria made while on a walk along the old donkey paths on the Greek island of Paxos. We are delighted to present 'Manon Last Scene' by Deborah Macmillan.

“The final stage rehearsals of live performance happen in a hive of activity, away from public view. Dancers, singers, actors and backstage teams all completely focused on the job in hand. Dancers rehearsing with a coach, sometimes as sets and lighting states are changing, and often with a live orchestra rehearsing in the pit. The Stage is a magical space. Time is critical, and all elements must be ready for the first night for which seats will already have been sold. I try to paint aspects of this human triumph.”


Born in Queensland, Australia, she was educated in Sydney and won a scholarship to the National Art School where she studied painting and sculpture. Since 1970 she has lived in London, where she met and married Kenneth MacMillan. She has designed ballets for the stage, and for Television, She returned to painting full-time in 1984. She exhibits in London and for 10 years also at Glyndebourne. At Expo 17 in Astana Kazakhstan 20 of her paintings were shown in the Opera House. Her work is in private collections in the USA and the UK. She has been a member of the Royal Opera House Board, was Chairman of The Friends of Covent Garden and was a member of the Arts Council of England, chairing the Dance Panel.

We present ‘Arabella and the Birds’ by acclaimed artist Catriona Millar as one of our Live Auction pieces.

Catriona is one of Scotland's foremost figurative painters. She studied at Harrogate School of Art, and Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, where her tutors included Joyce Cairns RSA and Keith Grant. Since the success of her sell-out 2005 degree show she has achieved an international reputation and exhibited across the UK and Europe including the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh. Her works are in both private and public collections. In October 2006 she came to the attention of Charles Saatchi with her first solo exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh. In April 2007 The Herald ranked her in the top five most collectable artists in Scotland. In 2012 Catriona Millar was listed in 'Who's Who in Scotland'. Her paintings can be seen on book jackets and CD covers while many schools and colleges around the world study her work.

Now based in East Sussex, Catriona is also donating a raffle prize, offering a chance to win six painting sessions under her expert tuition.
