Alexandra Llewellyn x Alice Temperley NHS AuctionRead more ...
Two British London based designers coming together to do what they can to support and celebrate our dedicated National Health Service. Alexandra Llewellyn, voted one of Walpole’s 50 Most Influential People in British Luxury and known for creating original and beautifully handcrafted backgammon sets, luxury games and bespoke furniture has partnered with friend and collaborator Alice Temperley, founder of the eponymous British brand Temperley London, to help support our NHS.
During this uncertain and difficult time with such emphasis being placed on the power of staying safe at home, we are all looking for ways to avoid the insanity of self-isolation, including returning to more elementary styles of entertainment. With this in mind, Alexandra Llewellyn and Alice Temperley have decided to auction off one of their favourite limited edition collaborations, to raise money for the wonderful National Health Service, helping us to stay home and help the NHS save lives.
Housed in a beautiful Macassar ebony box, this limited edition backgammon set is based on Alice Temperley’s 2017 collection with blue lapis and turquoise playing pieces perfectly suited to the boards nautical design. The exquisite backgammon board up for auction is the signed artists proof of the limited edition design (10 sets).
This backgammon board has been handcrafted in the traditional tournament size, with the layout designed to be the best scale for play. 60cm x 77cm x 5cm / 23.5" x 30" x 2" when open. The compartments are lined in calf leather, and so are the shakers.
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
