Hidden within the heart of the village, the cottage is a short stroll from the restaurants & cafes Mallaig is known for.

The picturesque fishing harbour, local shops and railway station are minutes away.
You can catch the famous 'Harry Potter Express' steam railway or sail over the sea to Skye.


The space

Comfort and relaxation are the key aims of the cottage.
The focal point of the sitting room is the wood burning stove with comfortable sofas encouraging guests to relax.

The new Shaker kitchen is well appointed, a traditional feel with modern appliances Belfast sink, dishwasher, microwave, fan assisted oven etc.

Continuing the focus on relaxation, the master bedroom has views across to Skye and a kingside bed.

The hillside bedroom has 2 large oak single beds.

A power shower and underfloor heating in the bathroom complete the cottage.

Garden seating and a table are stored on the deck at the back of the garden.

Woodside is a stunning 1850s Victorian mansion. The beautifully renovated top floor apartment has two bedrooms and private bathroom. There is a seating area in the twin bedroom and fridge/microwave/coffee machine in the hallway. An ideal base for visiting the area or for a stop-over. Grounds are extensive and views are breathtaking. Loch Long shore is at the bottom of the garden and there is a kids play area. Easy access to Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Arrochar Alps, Faslane and Coulport Naval bases.


The space
We follow AirBnB's advanced cleaning protocol which was developed with expert guidance. Further details of this are at the bottom of this page.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed, chest of drawers, chair and dressing table. Views from the window are stunning.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds, two comfy chairs, a coffee table and a wall mounted TV.
The bathroom has a bath with hand-held shower attachment and, what we think, is possibly the best view from a bathroom in the world! All toiletries are provided including hand sanitising gel and anything you may have forgotten such as toothbrushes and shave kit.
The hallway has a microwave, coffee machine, kettle, mini fridge and crockery, cutlery, mugs, glasses plus tea, coffee and snacks.
There is wifi, internet TV, central heating with a dedicated thermostat for your apartment. All towels and bedding are provided along with access to a washer and drier. A travel-cot and bedding is available on request.
The Airbnb apartment is accessed up a shared staircase (41 stairs) – our family apartment (not Airbnb) is on the floor below.
There is an area in the entrance hall for coats, boots and shoes. There is also space for buggies or 2 bikes.
The gardens are beautiful with many plants of interest and plenty of space to play football/croquet in. If it is the right season you will be given fruit/veg from the garden and greenhouse. The shore is at the end of the garden and we often go swimming there. There is a large decked area to the front of the house with seating and a gas barbecue guests are welcome to use.
Cove Country Store, stocking all your essentials and delicious locally made ready meals, is 2 minutes drive away and there are a number of takeaways that deliver to Woodside.
Please be aware there are 41 steps up to the apartment so it may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.

Glenwood Glamping is a beautiful Glamping experience! We are set into the hill just 10 minutes walk from the famous Camusdarrach beach. We have a separate access road to the pod with private parking for 1 car. 4 miles to the lovely fishing village of Mallaig and 4 miles to Arisaig. We have an abundance of stunning views, beach walks and boat trips just a short walk or car ride away.
We like to give our guests space but can be on hand if anything is needed! The pod will be open on arrival
The space
Our pod comprises of a small kitchen/living area. The kitchen has a sink, microwave, kettle and toaster and fridge which is under the sink.. we also have a small 2 ring electric cooker which is kept under the sink with some pots for your use! We have a small Bluetooth speaker for the music lovers! There is a table and chairs and the living area has a couch. The bathroom area is separate and there is a sink, toilet and shower cubicle. The bed is a small double which is accessed by a ladder. We also have a sofa bed if guests would prefer to sleep on this. Instructions on how to put it up are provided.


We provide a starter kit of some tea, coffee, sugar, marmalade and one toilet roll. We also have a bbq outside but don’t provide coals

Katie’s Cabin is a brand new business opening on the 2nd August 2021 “Katie’s” is a small and Cosy living space for you to base yourself for touring the Isle of Skye, it has all you need for your stay, comprising of compact kitchen with combi microwave oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, TV/ Firestick, there is a decking with furniture, and off decking there is a fire pit to sit round in the evening and take in the beautiful sunsets from it .

We are located 7 miles from the Skye Bridge, a brief guide to getting to us, when driving through the township of Breakish you will note a pavement on the left hand side of the road, if you are travelling from the south, the pavement turns to a white footpath which is guarded from the road by black and white bollards with red reflectors on top of them,continue northbound with these on your left until approx 400 yds from the Armadale junction,where you will see two bollards where the reflectors are blue and a wooden framed sign with the “Katie Cabin” logo the cabin is situated up the drive between the two blue topped bollards,
