Even without Jonah Lomu the All Blacks were too strong for a plucky Scottish side. The fearsome New Zealand back row of Cronfeld, Jones and Brooke scored an incredible five tries in the match and were immense foraging and creating opportunities across the park. "Bill McLaren was invited down to South Africa to cover this series. The All Blacks gained revenge over their hosts after losing the 1995 RWC Final the previous year in dramatic style, winning a closely fought match 23 -19 in Durban. This was the first test in a 3 Test series which the All Blacks won 2 to 1, and was the first ever series win by a New Zealand touring side. Christian Cullen and Jeff Wilson were the try scorers for the All Blacks. This was the first year of professional rugby and both sides had a galaxy of stars. Playing for the All Blacks including the two try scorers, were Justin Marshall, Sean Fitzpatrick, Ian Jones and the magnificent back row of Michael Jones, Zinzan Brooke and Josh Kronfield. South Aftirica had Andre Joubert, Joel Stransky, Mark Andrews, Gary Teichmann and André Venter.

Join us for a four ball on the Rosemount Course, said by Tom Morris to be “The most beautiful inland green I have ever seen”. It was also the location for Bill McLaren’s famous victory over Peter Alliss in the BBC programme “A Round with Alliss” and the venue for our annual golf day (Tues 14th May 2024), supported by Carbon Financial Partners Limited. The day comprises 18 holes in fourball format, followed by lunch and prize giving.

The same All Blacks side that went on to win the final were too strong for a plucky Scotland team led by Hawick's Colin Deans. Grant Fox scored 22 points ,including six penalties and two conversions from tries by John Gallagher and Alan Whetton. Scotland's points came from the boot of Gavin Hastings.

The 2019 Cricket World Cup Final was a One Day International cricket match played at Lord's on 14 July 2019. It was contested by the runners-up from the previous tournament, New Zealand, and the host nation, England. It was the fifth time Lord's had hosted the Cricket World Cup Final, the most of any ground.

The two teams were tied on 241 runs at the end of the match, resulting in a Super Over being played to break the tie. On the final ball of New Zealand's Super Over, after equalling the 15 runs England managed in their over, Martin Guptill attempted to score the winning run but was run out by Jason Roy and Jos Buttler, meaning the Super Over was also tied. England won on the boundary count-back rule, having scored 26 boundaries to New Zealand's 17, thus becoming Cricket World Cup winners for the first time.

It was the first time a One Day International final match required a Super Over, and subsequently the first time it had been decided by a boundary count. The match has been described as one of the greatest and most dramatic in the history of the sport, with some analysts describing it as the greatest match in the history of one-day cricket.

This incredible experience is for 2 people to take to the skies in the high G-Force T67 Firefly aircraft!

After your safety briefing, your ex-military instructors will take off in close formation before teaching you how to fly aerobatics yourself! After getting used to the incredibly fast T67 Firefly plane and the G-force, you will undertake tail chasing and combat against one another!

This experience will take place Monday-Friday at 10.30am or 1.00pm March-November inclusive but excluding bank holidays. You can pay an additional charge of £150 to fly on a Saturday.
