A return to Hungerford from Guy is a very welcome event.
Many will remember Guy’s amazing solo performance of "Under Milk Wood” in 2010 and his hilarious portrayal of the distraught actor in “The Half” in 2013. Described in Australia as “arguably the world’s finest exponent of the works of Dylan Thomas” here he returns with his 2001 Edinburgh Best Actor Award-winning performance of the "Other Works of Dylan Thomas" - or, as he likes to call it - the “Not 'Under Milk Wood' Dylan Thomas”! A wonderful selection of three delightful short stories - including of course the much loved “A Child’s Christmas In Wales” along with some of Dylan’s most famous poems including “Death Shall Have No Dominion” and “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.”
The stories are all characterised in Masterson’s inimitable style, bringing them to vivid life before our eyes. An unforgettable enchanting evening that will linger long in the memory. “Sheer, unadulterated pleasure... a solo actor without equal... a master of transformation... a flurry of collective nouns and a beauty of adjectives in the fabulously capable hands of Masterson are joyous and emotive in equal measure… Unutterably moving… An energetic, guttural, totally undeniable performance." Mark Brown - Scotland on Sunday.
HADCAF Enthusiasts will also remember Rebecca Vaughan’s wonderful performances in "Austen’s Women", "The Diaries of Adam and Eve", "I, Elizabeth" and "Female Gothic", all of which Guy directed.
