Title: Fifteen Wild
Genre: Historical/Literary Fiction
Format: Paperback :
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: Global
The Book;
A creative re-imagining of the short life of Emily Brontë, one of England’s greatest writers
Isolated from society, the Brontë children spend all their time inventing elaborate fictional realms or roaming the wild moors above their family home in Yorkshire. When the time comes for them to venture out into the world to earn a living, each of them struggles to adapt, but for Emily the change is catastrophic. Torn from the landscape she loves and no longer able to immerse herself in the fantastical world of Gondal that she and her younger sister Anne have created, she is simply unable to function.
As a child, Emily witnessed a rare natural phenomenon. After weeks of rain, the peaty soil on Crow Hill became so sodden that the earth exploded. Since then, her life has been dogged by tragedy and repeated failures. Her sisters are desperate to escape their unsatisfactory work as governesses and now the life of her brother Branwell, the hope of the family, is in turmoil. To the outside world, Emily appears taciturn, unexceptional; but beneath the surface her mind is in a creative ferment, ready to burst forth. As the pressure on her grows, another violent phenomenon is about to take place, one that will fuse her imaginary world of Gondal with the landscape Emily loves so passionately, and which will change the literary world forever.
The Author:
Karen Powell was born in Rochester, Kent and studied English Literature at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge. She is the author of four novels including The River Within, an early draft of which was awarded a Northern Writers’ TLC Prize, and Fifteen Wild Decembers which was shortlisted for the 2023 Nero Book Awards and named a Best Historical Fiction Book of 2023 by The Sunday Times. She is published by Europa and lives in North Yorkshire.

Title: The Queen’s Necklace
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book;
The most famous necklace in the world has finally been found…
Anne Boleyn’s ‘B’ necklace is almost as famous as the woman herself, a symbol of her sharp rise and dramatic fall, and an enduring legacy of her short tenure as Queen of England. For centuries it’s been lost, but it’s about to be found by the most unlikely of heirs…
Actress Bryher Finch’s life isn’t just a disaster, it’s a catastrophe that she and her career seem destined never to recover from, until a chance invitation to chart her family tree sends her on a new course. Now, as Bryher discovers the ancestry she never knew about, she stumbles on the discovery of the century. But she’s not the only one who wants the necklace, and if she wants to emerge triumphant, she’ll have to take a page out of Anne Boleyn’s book – risking everything she has left.
The Author:
Adrienne is a novelist, speaker, teacher, interior designer, as well as an avid traveller, photographer, flea market hunter, haiku poet and chocolate-eater.
A voracious reader and creative writer since she can remember, Adrienne always aspired to write novels.

Title: Betsy's War
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperbacks
Signed: Dedications are Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
In the 1946 21,000 children in England and Wales were adopted compared to around 3,000 in 2024. From 1949 to 1967 there were 100,000 Forced Adoptions. Between 1899 and 1967, 100,000 children were sent abroad from the United Kingdom to Canada, Australian and New Zealand - many from Liverpool which was one of the main departure cities. During the blitz 70,000 in Liverpool were made homeless. 4,000 lost their lives. Families were fractured and struggled to cope. The children of these families who often turned to religious institutions, were known as Orphans of The Living. Young single mothers, like Betsy in my latest book, felt that they had no choice but to give their babies away for adoption.
The Author:
Eliza Morton was born in Liverpool and worked as an actress. She is known for playing Madeline Basset in Jeeves and Wooster and Lucinda in the Liverpool sitcom, Watching. As well as TV, she has also worked in theatre and film. She trained at Guildhall School of Drama and as a writer, with The Royal Court Young Writers’ Group. She is an award-winning short-story writer and has also written drama for TV, film and theatre. In her formative years at convent school, she spent her weekends playing the piano accordion in Northern Working Men’s Clubs. She lives with her husband - the actor Peter Davison - in Middlesex. She is author of A Liverpool Girl and A Last Dance in Liverpool under the name Elizabeth Morton.

Title: The Scandalous Ladies Football Club by Frances Quinn
Genre: Historical
Signed and can be dedicated
Bids Accepted: UK only
Blurb:
Welcome to the British Ladies Football Club
London, 1897. Minnie Newton – twenty-eight-year-old schoolteacher and women’s rights advocate – has a passion for football. But in Victorian society, football is a men's game. That is, until Minnie decides to take matters into her own hands and place an ad in the newspaper, asking for volunteers to join the first ever women’s football team.
From a motley collection of replies, Minnie puts together a squad. Most of the women have never kicked a ball before – but a little thing like that isn’t about to stop them. And when they take the game public, it isn’t long before they are drawing huge crowds, stirring controversy across the capital and beyond.
But Minnie is hiding an explosive secret. Soon, all the attention the club is getting begins to threaten the life she has built for herself.
Can she walk the line between independence and safety, or will the truth about who she really is finally come out? And is the beautiful game enough to save her freedom?
A story inspired by real-life Victorian trailblazers, who showed the world that women can do anything they put their minds to, even if the world around them says they can’t.
The Author:
I'm the author of The Smallest Man, my debut novel, about a boy who beomes a 'court dwarf' in 17th century England. My latest book is That Bonesetter Woman, set around a century later, in Georgian London. It's about a young woman, Endurance Proudfoot, who wants to be a bonesetter, her sister who becomes a famous actress, a baby left at the Foundling Hospital, an unwise marriage - and some lions!
You might be a bit surprised to see a series of law textbooks here too. It's not a mistake, they're mine as well - it's always good to have more than one string to your bow! But for the avoidance of confusion, I'm not the same Frances Quinn who won Great British Bake Off, though I do make a very good Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

Book Title: The Queen of Bushy House
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: Global
The Book:
One house. Two women. Both determined to endure.
July 1818. Dorothea Jordan – celebrated actress and long-time companion of the Duke of Clarence – has returned. Not in flesh, but in spirit. For fifteen years Bushy House was her sanctuary, filled with laughter and her ten children – the FitzClarences. Now she watches as her portraits are taken down and her daughters sent away, in preparation for the duke’s new bride.
Princess Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen arrives in England with duty pressing heavily upon her shoulders. At twenty-five, she has accepted a proposal no other princess would take. She must tame the duke’s debts, win over his unruly children and – above all – produce an heir to secure the British throne.
But Adelaide soon senses a presence in Bushy House.
As she struggles to find her place in a household shaped by another woman’s love, the restless spirit of Mrs Jordan lingers – watchful, wounded and unwilling to be forgotten.
Inspired by the true story of Queen Adelaide and the actress Dorothea Jordan, The Queen of Bushy House explores grief and ambition, motherhood and legacy – and the enduring power of a love that refuses to fade.

The Book:
One house.

The Book:
Inspired by the true story of two sisters who helped Jewish people escape fascist Germany, a powerful, compelling novel of love, courage and sacrifice.
Her hands tremble as she tightens her grip on the letter, taking in the familiar script that is scratched into the fading parchment. For more than fifty years, she has carried this testimony - these secrets - with her. It's time her story was told.
1937. As fascism rises across Europe and the threat turns to very real danger for their Jewish friends in Berlin, sisters Josephine and Constance smuggle out possessions to help to finance their friends' new lives as refugees in London - if they make it out. Then, one day, they're asked to rescue something much more precious: a little girl. Her mother, Ilse, has been imprisoned for her journalism and her father, Daniel, knows he must do all he can to protect their child - even if that means letting her go...
1939. When war breaks out, the sisters are tortured by thoughts of those they couldn't save and commit to doing all they can on the Home Front - Jo, at the Ministry of Information, where she becomes part of a network of intelligence workers, and Constance as an air raid warden during the Blitz. Meanwhile in Germany, Ilse is moved to Ravensbrück, where she bands together with other women in the camp to expose the atrocities they face every day. But can Ilse find a way to connect with her daughter?

The Book:
A mystery boy. A woman with no past. A bond which transcends lifetimes…
Clara's country estate holds more than manicured gardens - it conceals the key to a centuries-old mystery. When she meets Alfie, an enigmatic boy who claims Clara herself brought him there, her world tilts. She has never seen him before.

Title: Tribute
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book;
London 1970…
The newly restored Young Albert Theatre is about to open. The project’s benefactors want to give the young, underprivileged men and women in London’s East End a chance to fulfil their potential through music and drama.
Its debut musical, Tribute, celebrates the life of Margot Dudley, her work with ENSA, and her rise to fame in The Prince Albert Theatre during the Blitz in World War II.
Two weeks before opening night, the sound system is stolen. While Natalie Goldman, part-owner of the Young Albert, organises a charity event to raise money to replace the system, Ena Green, nee Dudley, who is already investigating anonymous threats against one of the theatre’s staff, investigates the theft.
Can a catastrophic act that could cost the lives of six hundred people be stopped in time?
The Author:
I was bought up in a busy pub in a market town called Lutterworth. For as long as I remember, I wanted to be an actress and writer. I was offered a television role when I was sixteen, but my mother wanted me to have a 'proper' job, so I did a hairdressing apprenticeship instead. Eight years later, aged twenty-four, I sold two successful businesses for a place at East 15 Drama College and a career as an actress, working in Repertory theatre, the West End, film and http://television.In 2000 I gave up acting, taught myself to touch type, completed a two-year college course and began writing articles and presenting radio. In 2010, after living in London for thirty-six years, I returned to Lutterworth, swapping two window boxes and a mortgage for a garden and the freedom to write - and I loved it. Since then, I have written a series of ten novels. The first four books, set in World War Two, introduce the Dudley sisters. Three post-war books follow, and then three mystery, crime and spy thrillers take the Dudley sisters to 1960. Each story stands alone but is interwoven with the other stories.

Title: Foxden Acres
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book;
Foxden Acres: An epic, heart-wrenching and unforgettable historical novel about one woman’s survival against all odds during the unbearable hardships of World War Two. (Sisters of Wartime England Book 1)
1939, England. Bess Dudley knows what it means to lose what you love. As the daughter of a groom at historic Foxden Hall, she has worked hard to escape her humble background and train as a teacher, but she has made huge sacrifices. Just as Bess arrives in London to take up her first, hard-won post, the shadow of war sweeps over England. Bombs rip apart the city, and screeching air raids become a part of everyday life. London is thrown into chaos and schools close, taking Bess’s dreams with them.
Bess learns that James, the handsome heir to Foxden Hall who she has loved since childhood is engaged to Annabel Hadley. Annabel is everything Bess is not – a wealthy aristocrat – but James never seemed to care about those things before. It breaks Bess’s heart to see him with someone else.
London is becoming more dangerous by the day and when Bess nearly dies in a terrifying air raid she knows it’s time to go home. Back at Foxden Acres, she becomes a Land Girl –– farming the estate for wartime rations. It’s back-breaking work and a far cry from the life she dreamed of. Even in the country, the horror of war leaves no life untouched.
Then the unthinkable happens, and Bess’s resilience and hope are tested to the limit. In a world torn apart by violence, she must choose between her heart and her duty… all while keeping a dark secret of her own.
An unputdownable wartime novel about how adversity can change us in ways we never anticipate.

The Book;
Ena Dudley‘s day takes a shocking turn when she sees a familiar face in the bustling foyer of Selfridges department store.
A woman she had mourned as dead, Freida Voight, stands before her, locked in a passionate embrace with a mysterious man. Ena’s mind races with questions, casting doubts on the reality she thought she knew.
Desperate to share her discovery, Ena confides in her husband Henry, an MI5 agent. However, Henry dismisses her claims, reminding her that they attended Freida’s funeral years ago. Yet Ena’s doubts persist and she embarks on a covert investigation. Was Freida’s funeral a cover-up orchestrated by one of the intelligence agencies?
Delving into MI5 archives and later the classified files of the German Nationals Department, Ena faces an unexpected twist when she discovers evidence of a mysterious imposter posing as her, who has been gathering sensitive information from government officials.
Amidst the chaos, a body is discovered in shocking circumstances. With the odds stacked against her, Ena must confront the dangerous truths of her time in the war, what happened to Freida and its lasting repercussions.
As secrets collide and loyalties are tested – Ena’s marriage, reputation and very life hang in the balance.
A captivating tale of World War Two secrets that will leave readers breathless until the final, spine-tingling revelation.

The world was crumbling, but her love stayed strong
November 1915. For young housemaid, Anwen Rhys, life is hard in the Welsh mining village of Dorcalon, deep in the Rhymney Valley. She cares for her ill mother and beloved younger sister Sara, all while shielding them from her father's drunken, violent temper. Anwen comforts herself with her love for childhood sweetheart, Idris Hughes, away fighting in the Great War.
Yet when Idris returns, he is a changed man; no longer the innocent boy she loved, he is harder, more distant, quickly breaking off their engagement. And when tragedy once again strikes her family, Anwen's heart is completely broken.
But when an explosion at the pit brings unimaginable heartache to Dorcalon, Anwen and Idris put their feelings aside to unite their mining community.
In the midst of despair, can Anwen find hope again? And will she ever find the happiness she deserves?
A beautiful, emotional and heart-breaking saga set in the Welsh Valleys of the Great War that fans of Rosie Goodwin and Sheila Newbury will love.

Book 1: People Like Us
She must choose between loyalty to her country or a love that could be her destruction…
As the dutiful daughter of a high-ranking Nazi officer, Hetty Heinrich is keen to play her part in the glorious new Thousand Year Reich. But she never imagines that all she believes and knows about her world will come into stark conflict when she encounters Walter, a friend from the past, who stirs dangerous feelings in her. Confused and conflicted, Hetty doesn’t know whom she can trust and where she can turn to, especially when she discovers that someone has been watching her.
Realizing she is taking a huge risk—but unable to resist the intense attraction she has for Walter—she embarks on a secret love affair with him. Together, they dream about when the Nazi regime will be over and plan for their future. But as the rising tide of anti-Semitism threatens to engulf them, Hetty and Walter will be forced to take extreme measures.
Will the steady march of dark forces destroy Hetty’s universe—or can love ultimately triumph…?
Book 2: The Hidden Child
London, 1928.
Eleanor and Edward Hamilton have wealth, status, and a happy marriage—but the 1929 financial crash is looming, and they’re harbouring a terrible, shameful secret. How far are they willing to go to protect their charmed life—even if it means abandoning their child to a horrific fate?
Eleanor Hamilton is happily married and mother to a beautiful four-year-old girl, Mabel. Her wealthy husband, Edward, a celebrated war hero, is a leading light in the burgeoning Eugenics movement—the very ideas that will soon be embraced by Hitler—and is increasingly important in designing education policy for Great Britain.
But when Edward and Eleanor’s otherwise perfectly healthy daughter develops debilitating epileptic seizures, their world fractures. Mabel’s shameful illness must be hidden or Edward’s life’s work will be in jeopardy and the family’s honor will be shattered.
When Eleanor discovers Edward has been keeping secrets, she calls into question everything she believed about genetic inferiority, and her previous unshakeable faith in her husband disintegrates. Alarmed, distressed, and no longer able to bear the family’s burden, she takes matters into her own hands.
Inspired by the author’s personal experience, The Hidden Child illuminates the moral and ethical issues of an era shaped by xenophobia, prejudice, fear, and well-intentioned yet flawed science.
Book 3: The London Bookshop Affair
In nuclear war, there can be no winners.
It’s 1962, and the world is teetering on the brink of nuclear war. But daily life must go on. South London girl Celia Duchesne longs for a career but with no means, connections, or qualifications, she spends her days at the till of a dusty antiquarian bookshop on the Strand, unable to see a way out. The day a handsome American walks into the shop, she thinks she might have found it. Just as the excitement of a budding relationship engulfs her, she learns a devastating secret that draws her into the murky world of espionage.
Twenty years prior, nineteen-year-old Anya Moreau was dropped behind enemy lines to aid the resistance in occupied France, sending messages back to London via wireless transmitter. When she was cruelly betrayed and handed over to the Nazis, evidence of her legacy and the truth of her actions were buried by wartime injustices.
As Celia learns more about Anya—and her unexpected connection to the undercover agent—she becomes increasingly aware of furious efforts, both past and present, to protect state secrets, at all costs. With her newly formed romance taking a surprising turn and the world’s superpowers on the verge of nuclear annihilation, Celia must risk everything she holds close to her heart, in the name of justice.
Propulsive, illuminating, and inspired by true events and figures of the Cold War, The London Bookshop Affair is a gripping story of secrets and love set against the backdrop of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Book 4: Book of Forbidden Words
"What power lay there in words on a page. And with that thought, Charlotte knew she would not rest until she had seen what was in the manuscript that Lysbette so desperately wanted to preserve in print.’
1552, Paris: Against a backdrop of turmoil, suspicion, and paranoia, the printing press is quickly spreading new ideas across Europe, threatening the power of church and state and unleashing a wave of book burning and heretic hunting. When frightened ex-nun Lysbette Angiers arrives one day at Charlotte Guillard’s famous printing shop with her manuscript, neither woman knows just how far the powerful elite will go to prevent the spread of Lysbette’s audacious ideas.
1952, New York: Milly Bennett, lonely and unmoored, is a seemingly ordinary housewife with a secretive past. Balancing the day-to-day boredom of keeping house and struggling to find her way with the mothers at her children’s school, she finds her life taking an unexpected turn as conspiracies spread amidst the paranoid clamors of McCarthy’s America. When a relic from her past presents her with a 400-year-old manuscript to decipher, she is reluctantly pulled into a vortex of danger that threatens to shatter her world.
From the risky backstreets of sixteenth-century Paris to the unpredictable suburbs of mid-twentieth century New York, the stakes couldn’t be higher when, 400 years apart, Milly, Lysbette, and Charlotte each face a reality where the spread of ideas are feared and every effort is made to suppress them.
Dramatic and affecting, and inspired by the real-life encrypted Voynich manuscript, Book of Forbidden Words is both an engrossing story about a timeless struggle that echoes through the ages and a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who dare to let their words be heard.

Returning from a dangerous mission to Rome, warlord Beobrand looks forward to peace at home, but bloodshed remains his constant companion.

He hastens to warn his king, but finds Oswiu distracted, preparing to marry his eldest son to the daughter of former adversary Penda of Mercia, who remains as slippery as ever.

It seems that the ghosts of the past have secrets...and they have something that they want Skye and Rafe to know.

Genre: Historical Fiction

With a nature as wild as the moors she loves to roam, Catherine Earnshaw grows up alongside Heathcliff, a foundling her father rescued from the streets of Liverpool. Book Title: The Princes of Pauper's Pond
Genre: Fiction
Format: Hardback
Signed - Dedication NOT Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
In 1913, two brothers are sent into the forest to fend for themselves, forging a bond through hunger, freedom and endurance. Before the summer is over, a decision fractures that world, leaving a scar that will mark their family for generations. The wondrous, magical and deeply moving debut novel by one of Norway's finest artists, Lars Elling…
1985. Nineteen-year-old Filip spends his days playing football, listening to music on his Walkman and drawing, searching for something he cannot yet name. He lives in a large family house shared with his grandparents, where an old rift between his grandfather Arnstein and Arnstein's brother Truls still governs the atmosphere. The cause appears trivial, an apple tree dropping fruit across a boundary fence, but the bitterness between the brothers speaks of something far older and deeper.
1912. With Europe on the brink of upheaval, Arnstein and Truls are sent into the forest for the summer by their stern father, determined that his sons should learn to endure hardship. Left to fend for themselves among travellers, log drivers and Forest Finns, the brothers live from the land, fishing, hunting and roaming the vast woodland. Cold and hungry, yet bound together by fierce loyalty and affection, they crown themselves the princes of Pauper's Pond, rulers of a world shaped by freedom, imagination and shared struggle. Until, back home, their father makes a decision that will change everything.
Spanning generations, The Princes of Pauper's Pond is a vibrant, magical and deeply affecting novel about brotherhood and belonging, about finding joy and love in the open landscape, and about those single moments that can seal a family's fate … forever…
The Author:
Lars Elling is a writer and a visual artist. He is the author of two picture books and has also illustrated several children’s books. Together with Bjørn Sortland he won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1996 for the book Red, Blue and a Bit of Yellow, which he illustrated. Elling has had exhibitions in Berlin and New York and his works have been acquired by Norway’s National Museum and the Council of Culture. The Princes of Pauper’s Pond is his first novel.

Book Title: The Deadly Inheritance of Everest Macdonald
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Hardback
Signed - Dedication NOT Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
Some inherit a fortune.
She inherited murder…
1917. As the Great War rages on the continent, Everest Macdonald is summoned to her father's deathbed and entrusted with a final urgent request: she must uncover the truth behind the murder of her uncle, the celebrated Victorian actor William Terriss, a crime that has haunted her family for twenty years.
In 1897, Terriss was stabbed to death outside London’s Adelphi Theatre, a killing that shocked Victorian society. The murderer was swiftly arrested and confined to Broadmoor, the case declared closed. Yet, years later, a sealed package of evidence is passed to Everest by her dying father, which casts doubt on the official verdict and the haste with which it was reached.
Drawn back to wartime London, with her husband and children left behind, Everest begins her investigation, following a trail that leads her into the world of late-Victorian theatre, where fame and fortune mask obsession, envy and cruelty. With time running out and her father’s strength failing, Everest must uncover what really happened on the night Terriss died, and shed light on the unsettling legacy he left behind.
Based on an extraordinary true story, The Deadly Inheritance of Everest Macdonald is a dark, atmospheric historical mystery and a compelling adventure, as an unlikely investigator risks everything to pursue one of the most notorious killings of the Victorian stage.
The Author:
A.J. West grew up reading books to escape his shyness at school and discovered an early talent for writing fiction which led to an award-winning career as a BBC television newsreader and reporter. He has also written for national newspapers and magazines and has appeared on television programmes including BBC Breakfast, Good Morning Britain, This Morning and the legendary reality television show, Big Brother, where he became an instant household name... though the specific household has yet to be identified.
A.J.West's celebrated second novel The Betrayal of Thomas True was an instant Sunday Times bestseller, winning the coveted CWA Historical Dagger award. Following the publication of his bestselling debut novel The Spirit Engineer he became the only author in the world to have his name engraved on his lead character's gravestone. With a passion for digging up forgotten historical stories and bringing them back to life, he spends much of his time exploring archives and visiting locations of historical interest.
Today, A.J. lives in South London with his husband, Nicholas Robinson.

Book Title 1: The Bletchley Girls
Bletchley Park, 1940: As I stand alone outside the imposing gates in the darkness of the night, I have no idea what lies ahead. All I have with me is a suitcase of clothes and a handful of letters from my fiancé. But I’m determined to fight in whatever way I can for freedom and for love....
Inspired by the unforgettable true story of the women of Bletchley Park, this utterly gripping novel of secrets, love, and courage shines a light on the incredible wartime work that changed the course of history.
When Stefania Carmichael steps into the mysterious world of Bletchley Park, she immediately finds herself signing the Official Secrets Act. In whispers, she is told that she’s been recruited because of her talent for languages. Before the war ripped Europe apart, Stefania was living in Rome, charming everyone she met with her quick wit and sharp mind, and engaged to the man of her dreams, handsome and brave Matteo. And now everything has changed.
With secrets swirling around the building, Stefania finds it hard to know who to trust, until she forms a close bond with two other new recruits. Ailsa is a gifted radio operator and Fran a logistics genius, and the two women help Stefania navigate her new world of codebreaking. But even though Stefania’s skills are crucial to the war effort, her position is put in jeopardy when Italy joins the opposite side of the battle—and her beloved fiancé becomes the enemy.
Her heart belongs to Matteo, but she knows she must do whatever it takes to help England win the war. So when she is asked to go on a classified mission, she jumps at the chance. But it soon becomes clear there’s a traitor in their midst, and all eyes turn to her....
With her life at stake, can she prove herself innocent and save the man she loves? Or will Stefania lose everything?
Book Title 2: Code Name Elodie
1943, Bletchley Park: In the dark of night, my heart is pumping with adrenalin as I wait for news of the secret agent operating under the code name Elodie. She has a dangerous part to play in the Normandy landings and so many lives are at stake. But I couldn’t bear to lose her….
Inspired by the brave women of Bletchley Park, this is a totally gripping World War Two novel of friendship, heartbreak and hope. Perfect for fans of The Rose Code, The Alice Network, and The Nightingale.
Valerie Rousseau is burning with determination to help free her beloved France from the Nazi regime. Working at the mysterious Bletchley Park, she strikes up an unexpected bond with smart, fiercely loyal Fran Morgan as they spend long days together with their heads bent over maps of France in preparation for the Allied invasion.
Their friendship grows increasingly important as they distract themselves from the dark days of war with afternoons skating across the icy pond at the heart of Bletchley Park and evenings talking late into the night. But Valerie’s wartime role is shrouded in secrecy and there are things that she can’t even tell Fran.
When Valerie volunteers for a dangerous mission linked to the D-Day landings in Normandy, Fran is devastated. Valerie has knowingly put her life on the line and Fran is terrified that she will never see her again.
Soon, Fran hears about the bravery of the agent operating under the code name Elodie. She’s certain it’s Valerie and she knows the work she is doing in her little office, overlooking the green fields of England, could be the difference between life and death for this secret agent….
Can both women secure victory for their country? Or will the fight for freedom cost them their love–and their lives?

Book Title 1: The Midwife of Auschwitz
Auschwitz, 1943: As I held the tiny baby in my arms, my fingers traced the black tattoo etched across her little thigh. And I prayed that one day this set of numbers, identical to her mother’s, would have the power to reunite a family torn apart by war…
Inspired by an incredible true story, this poignant novel tells of one woman’s fight for love, life and hope during a time of unimaginable darkness.
Ana Kaminski is pushed through the iron gates of Auschwitz beside her frightened young friend Ester Pasternak. As they reach the front of the line, Ana steps forward and quietly declares herself a midwife – and Ester her assistant. Their arms are tattooed and they’re ordered to the maternity hut. Holding an innocent new-born baby, Ana knows the fate of so many are in her hands, and vows to do everything she can to save them.
When two guards in their chilling SS uniforms march in and snatch a blond-haired baby from its mother it’s almost too much for Ana to bear. Consoling the distraught woman, Ana realises amidst the terrible heartache there is a glimmer of hope. The guards are taking the healthiest babies and placing them with German families, so they will survive. And there are whispers the war is nearly over… Ana and Ester begin to secretly tattoo little ones with their mother’s numbers, praying one day they might be reunited.
Then, early one morning, Ana notices the small bump under Ester’s thin striped clothing…
An absolutely heart-breaking and page-turning WW2 novel of one woman’s bravery and determination to bring life and hope into a broken world. Fans of The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Alice Network and The Nightingale will be gripped.
Book Title 2: The Midwife of Berlin
Auschwitz, 1943: I stroke my beautiful baby’s hair. It’s a miracle it’s blonde because it will keep her alive, it will keep her safe. Soon they will come and take Pippa out of Auschwitz-Birkenau – and out of my arms. But while there’s life, there’s hope I might find my daughter again…
1945, Berlin: Ester Pasternak walked out of the gates of Auschwitz barely alive. She survived against devastating odds, but her heartbreaking journey is only just beginning. In the camp, Ester gave birth to a tiny fair-haired infant, only for her precious baby to be snatched from her and taken to a German family. Now the war is over, Ester is desperate to find her little girl.
But Europe is in chaos, Jewish families have been torn apart and everyone is urgently looking for their loved ones. In every orphanage and hospital she visits, Ester searches the faces of tear-stained toddlers; each mop of blonde hair and pair of blue eyes she sees sets her heart racing.
Will Ester ever be able to find the child whose tattoo matches her own? Or is she already too late…
Book Title 3: The War Orphan
1945, Auschwitz: I stumble out of the gates, tightly grasping the hands of two smaller children. Hunger swirls in my stomach and the barren landscape swims before my eyes. I can barely believe it. We’re free. We survived. But what happens now…
Sixteen-year-old Tasha Ancel turns to take one last look at the imposing place that stole her freedom and her childhood. She has no idea how she continued to live when so many others did not. For the first time in months, her heart beats with hope for her future and that of the smaller children who cling to her now.
Tasha was torn from her mother’s arms by an SS guard days before the gates of Auschwitz opened. Now she only has a lock of her mother’s fiery hair. Desperate to be reunited, Tasha asks everyone she meets if they’ve seen a woman with flame-red hair. But with so many people trying to locate their loved ones in the chaotic aftermath of war finding her feels like an impossible task.
Officially an orphan, Tasha is given the chance to start a new life in the Lake District in England. She knows her mother would want her to take the opportunity but she can’t bear the thought of leaving Poland without her.
Tasha must make a heartbreaking decision: will she stay in war-ravaged Europe and cling on to the hope that the person she loves most in the world is alive, or take a long journey across the sea towards an uncertain future?
Book Title 4: The Last Baby in Auschwitz
Inspired by unforgettable true stories, an absolutely gripping and emotional World War 2 historical novel
Auschwitz, 1945: My baby’s thin cry pierces the cold, frosty night. I rock him gently in my arms, willing him to be quiet. Because if anyone hears my newborn, he could be snatched from me–or worse. We’re so close to freedom now and I pray that soon I will walk out of the iron gates with my precious son…
Inspired by incredible true stories, this emotional novel tells of a mother’s love and courage in a time of unimaginable darkness.
Naomi Demetriou has survived three years behind the walls of Auschwitz. Torn apart from her family, every breath could be her last. She’s learnt to survive by secretly trading the clothes she’s forced to sort through in exchange for food. But when an SS officer singles her out, her life becomes even harder. And then she discovers she’s pregnant…
With the support of the kind and brave women in Barrack 24, Noami does the impossible and gives birth to a tiny baby boy. Hiding in the shadows, Naomi vows to do whatever it takes to keep baby Isaac safe. With rumours circulating of an Allied invasion, she prays the camp will soon be liberated so she can return to her home by the Greek sea with her son.
But the day comes when Naomi hears heavy footsteps and the harsh voice of an SS guard. ‘Out! Now! You can’t take anything with you!’ She’s shoved into a line of people being marched out of the iron gates. Thick snow falls around them. Tears sting in Naomi’s eyes.
It all happened so fast. And she was unable to grab the bundle of blankets containing her little boy…

Book 1; A Sister’s Heartbreak
She is her family's only hope.
1916. East London. When sixteen-year-old Clover Cooper's mother, Iris, calls her home from work one day, the last thing Clover expects is to find that her mother has given birth to another baby. After all, Clover's unpleasant father, Sidney, has been in France for longer than nine months. Banned from questions, and bound to secrecy by her beloved mother, Clover leaves her infant brother at a nunnery for safekeeping, despite her heartbreak at parting with him.
But when Sidney unexpectedly returns from the Western Front, life at home suddenly feels more dangerous than a battlefield. Strained by keeping such a secret, Clover turns to her fiercely protective grandmother, Elsie, for advice. But Elsie has her own life-changing decision to make. Then tragedy strikes, and Clover will have to find a way to keep her family together and safeguard all that she holds dear.
Book 2: East End Orphan
Abandoned twice, can he find a way to trust again?
When orphaned Jake Harding is sent away from his adoptive home aged just seven, he does not understand why - especially as his adopted brother, Toby, is kept by their mother.
Forced to make his own way in the world, Jake falls in with a gang of petty thieves, who make their living lifting valuables from those who are better off. At sixteen, he crosses paths with the charismatic Johnny Cooper and his nemesis George Payne, and risks making an enemy when he attracts the attention of George's beautiful daughter Rebecca.
Johnny Cooper is a rogue with a heart of gold. He senses a kindred spirit in Jake and a talent he could put to good use if Jake worked for him. However, Jake is determined to make something of himself so that no one can ever reject him again. But as he forges his own path, he cannot escape the reach of Johnny, George and their network of cronies, all of which will have far reaching consequences for Jake's future in ways he could never have imagined.
Book3: The Englishman’s Daughter
Torn between two nations, she will risk everything . . .
Seventeen-year-old Elise Bouchard has always called Northern France home. But when her English father, Sidney Cooper, is captured by the Nazis, her world is shattered. Fearing for her safety, Elise is forced to abandon the only life she has ever known - her beloved grandmother, her brother fighting in the Resistance, and the comfort of her maternal homeland. With the help of Nathan Hawkes, a British soldier, she escapes from Dunkirk on a small boat, seeking sanctuary across the Channel where unknown family ties are her only hope.
Yet East London's Silvertown is far from a refuge, and amid the chaos of war, Elise is plunged into a dangerous new reality when she is recruited as a spy by the Special Operations Executive. With her heart divided between two nations, Elise must summon all her courage to survive.
Suspenseful, atmospheric, and deeply moving, The Englishman's Daughter is a gripping tale of love and resilience in the face of unimaginable odds.

Book Title: A Safe Haven for the War Orphans
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Dedication: Yes
Postage: UK only
Book:
"A Safe Haven for the War Orphans" is a heart-warming wartime saga by Rachel Brimble, set against the backdrop of the devastating WWII bombings in Bristol. The story follows Susan Beckett, who, after hearing the cries of a child outside her door, brings her inside to safety. As the bombing intensifies, she realizes that her home is not big enough for the children she helps protect. With the promise of help from wealthy benefactor Stephen Audley, she moves herself and the orphans into Hatherley Hall, the stately home he lives in. However, the question remains: will she and her beloved orphans be safe with him? The novel is praised for its well-researched and well-written narrative, capturing the hopes, dreams, and fears of the characters as they navigate the perils of war on the home front.
The Author:
"Since 2007, I have been published by Harlequin Mills & Boon, Kensington Books, Aria Fiction, Harpeth Road, the Wild Rose Press and most recently Boldwood Books.
As the years have gone by, history has become my passion (so much so I am also studying for a History degree!) and I’ve concentrated solely on writing historical fiction and sagas.
The majority of my books are set in Bath which is the famous backdrop of period dramas such as Bridgerton, Poldark, Pride & Prejudice and many more. The overall theme of my books is female empowerment/social injustice often with family, friendship and love conquers all thrown in for good measure!
I am also hugely passionate about helping aspiring writers achieve their writing dreams and opened my Author Services in 2019. Since then, I have helped numerous writers sign their first book contracts and/or win competitions. As well as offering proofreading, I also critique partial and full manuscripts up to 100,000 words. I am currently working on other services so watch this space or my social media for updates!"

Book Title: A Northern Lass
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
She’s fallen on hard times but she’ll come back stronger…
Slung out from her home and onto the slum streets of Manchester at the tender age of twelve, Perdita Barratt has fallen on hard times. Each day she must toil to earn a penny to secure a bed at a lodging house. Each day is a struggle to survive.
But after a chance encounter with Silas Winkworth, a widowed cart driver who is in search of someone to look after his household, things start to look less bleak… And as Perdy settles into the domestic routine of her new life as a daily, Winkworth Cottage becomes her safe haven.
Yet this soon falls to the wayside when Honora, Silas’s estranged granddaughter, appears on their doorstep. Unbeknownst to Silas, who has welcomed Honora into his home with open arms, Perdy must steel herself to rise above her incessant snide remarks and wicked taunts…
But is there a darker motive than greed behind Honora’s return to Collyhurst, and how far will Perdy go to uncover the truth?
The Author:
Mother-of-three Emma Hornby was born and raised in Bolton, England.
History has always been her passion and she grew up with her nose buried in sagas. Before pursuing a career as a novelist, she had a variety of jobs, from care assistant for the elderly to working in a Blackpool rock factory. She later wrote short stories and non-fiction pieces for the internet, print and stage and also worked as a freelance poet.
Emma's books are gritty historicals set in Victorian and WWII Bolton and Manchester, which she began writing after researching her family history. The colourful folk she unearthed gave her plenty of inspiration; like the characters in her novels, many generations of her family eked out life amidst the squalor and poverty of Lancashire's slums. Her first book, A Shilling for a Wife, was the bestselling debut saga novel of 2017. Her subsequent titles regularly appear in the official bestsellers' charts.

Book Title 1: The Key To The Island House
Book Title 2: If I Can Save One Child
Book Title 3: The Paris Spy’s Girl
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperbacks
Signed: Dedications are Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
Book Title 1: The Key To The Island House
As I turn the rusted key in the worn lock, I know the secrets beyond these faded walls might change my life forever… Can I breathe new life into the dusty corridors that my beloved aunt once walked?
The only things Sophie has left after losing both her aunt and her husband-to-be are a key and an old photograph of a beautiful house on an island in Cairo. All Aunt Nadia ever said about the place was that it saved her during the war. And now it belongs to Sophie.
Now standing in front of the door, the bright paint peeling, Sophie hopes that solving the mysteries of her aunt’s past will heal her broken heart. Until she finds a note in her aunt’s handwriting, tucked away in the villa’s library. And it leaves her questioning everything. The torn, yellowed paper speaks of a wartime betrayal and a long-lost love.
Sophie had dismissed her fiancé’s hurried scrawl on the back of the faded black and white photograph. But clutching the two fragments of the past in her hands, it’s clear her husband-to-be knew this terrible family secret all along…
Will the truth from the war tear Sophie apart, just as it did her aunt? Or will facing her aunt’s secret help heal not just her own heartbreak, but also one from decades ago?
Book Title 2: If I Can Save One Child
France, 1942: Robert curls sleepily into me, his tiny hand grasping mine like a lifeline. He’s been so brave, this little boy who has been through the unimaginable. As his eyes close, I wonder how much longer we can go on. But I promised to save him. And I can’t give up now…
Young linguist Elisabeth has been working for the British secret service since the war began, rescuing downed pilots and Jewish refugees. Now the Gestapo are on her trail: her next mission must be her last. Or she may never see the white cliffs of Dover again.
But she can’t even think about abandoning her post when so many remain in danger. So when daredevil fellow agent Guy arrives with a frantic plea, there was never any doubt that Elisabeth would help. Somewhere in occupied France is a little boy, the last survivor of a Jewish orphanage, desperately trying to make his way to safety. They have to save him.
Elisabeth knows the mission may be suicide. But she also knows she could never live with herself if she didn’t try to save this child. And so she and Guy set off on one last journey together, into the mountains. For freedom – for this child – they’ll risk it all…
Based on the heartbreaking, compelling true stories of the women and men who risked everything to save thousands of innocent lives, this completely addictive novel is perfect for readers of My Name is Eva, Marion Kummerow and Mandy Robotham.
Book Title 3: The Paris Spy’s Girl
Paris, 1943. I stare at Charlie across the crowded room. Working deep undercover, we’re surrounded by Nazi high command. Slowly, he smiles at me and my breath catches. I have to trust him, or we’re both dead…
As war rages across France, English exile Christine has become the most deadly asset the British Secret Service has in occupied Paris. But when Suzanne, her best friend and the sole agent who knows the details of the top-secret D-Day landings, is betrayed to the Nazis by someone at the heart of their spy network, she is devastated. Going undercover with Charlie – a handsome but elusive American spy with an agenda of his own – is her only chance to catch the traitor in their midst.
Pretending to be not only Nazi collaborators but lovers too, they must save Suzanne from almost certain death and prevent the D-Day landing plans from ending up in the wrong hands. But as Christine and Charlie’s pretend desire turns to true love, her past – and the real reason she had to leave England forever – puts their whole mission in terrible danger.
With the Nazis closing in and Suzanne’s life on the line, Christine is forced into one last, desperate act: heading back into deepest, darkest enemy territory, knowing her disguise could have been exposed. With even her trust in Charlie shaken, will Christine have to choose between her love for him, her best friend’s life, and freedom for France? And who will pay the ultimate sacrifice…?
The Author:
Amanda was born in Hong Kong and survived both a convent boarding school and a Jesuit boys’ school before being summarily ejected from the latter. She gets her thirst for adventure from her parents who met in the jungle in Borneo where her mother had set up a hospital and her father, a former Gurkha Intelligence officer and Oxford-educated spy, was probably up to no good.
Amanda has a degree in drama and her first TV job was as a member of the Communist Resistance in ’Allo ‘Allo. This involved running around with a dachshund under her arm and deploying her best cod French accent. It has all been dramatically downhill since.

Book Title: The Laudanum Ladies’ Society
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
In a London that insists women remain quiet, dutiful, and dull, two unlikely conspirators discover a secret that awakens everything society tells them to suppress…
Jenny Rosewood – single, clever and nearly thirty, heaven forbid – has long disguised herself as a man to attend nighttime lectures and chase knowledge forbidden to her. But when an accidental alteration of her uncle’s sleeping draught unleashes a dizzying rush of freedom, Jenny sees an opportunity.
Together with Gwen Walters, a pharmacist’s wife hidden in her husband’s shadow, they form a covert sisterhood where London’s ladies gather to indulge in their secret tincture under the guise of afternoon tea.
Soon, society's most proper ladies are sipping their way toward inspiration, rebellion and risk.
Because once women taste freedom, no amount of decorum can force it back in the bottle.
The Author:
Elisabeth writes romantic historical fiction as Elisabeth Hobbes and historical folklore/fantasy romance as Elisabeth J. Hobbes.
She teaches Primary school and unlike her characters, the six year olds generally do what she tells them. She spends most of her spare time reading and is a pro at cooking one-handed while holding a book. She loves to travel and explore, looking for places to inspire her characters into life.
Elisabeth lives in Cheshire because the car broke down there in 1999 (though at heart she's still a Yorkshirewoman). She has two kids off at uni, two cats, two dogs and a husband. The whole family are autistic. The house still isn't tidy.

Book Title: Woodspring
Genre: Historical Fiction Romance
Format: Hardback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
Since the house was built in 1810, the Danes have lived in the elegant, light-filled rooms of Woodspring, and walked in the fields and woods that surround the house. Over the years, and through the changing seasons, it has brought shelter, solace and joy.
But now it's 1940 and Europe is in the midst of war. Everything is changing, and nothing will be the same again.
The next three generations of Danes will live very different lives to their predecessors, at home and abroad. Yet they know they are forever tied to Woodspring.
Love and fortunes may come and go, no one is untouched by loss... But, throughout all this, Woodspring remains a constant.
The Author:
Elizabeth Buchan began her career as a blurb writer at Penguin Books after graduating from the University of Kent with a double degree in English and History. She moved on to become a fiction editor at Random House before leaving to write full time. A subsequent novel, Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman became an international bestseller and was made into a CBS Primetime Drama. Later novels included The Second Wife, Separate Beds and Daughters. Her latest, I Can’t Begin to Tell You, a story of resistance in wartime Denmark, was published by Penguin in August 2014.
Elizabeth Buchan’s short stories are broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and published in magazines. She reviews for the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail, and has chaired the Betty Trask and Desmond Elliot literary prizes, and also been a judge for the Whitbread First Novel Award and for 2014 Costa Novel Award. The Book:
Welcome to the Museum of Broken Promises,
a place of wonder, sadness ... and hope.

Book Title: The Glass Key
Genre: Historical Fiction
Format: Paperback
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: UK Only
The Book:
In Ireland, Maggie has grown up hearing her mother tell her the bedtime story of The Glass Key. It's a Nordic fairytale passed down by Maggie's grandmother Anna Swan, who mysteriously left her home one stormy night years ago, never to return. Now Maggie's grandfather has died and going through his things, Maggie is shocked to discover a faded wartime letter, asking him to take in a baby. In that moment she realises that Anna Swan was a woman of many secrets.
Only by travelling to Norway and discovering the story of four brave young women whose lives were forever changed by the occupation of their tiny islands, can Maggie uncover the shocking truth about her family - and finally unlock the mystery of the glass key...
As epic as the Norwegian landscape it so vividly describes, The Glass Key is a sweeping journey of a novel that will stay with you for ever.
The Author:
Amanda Geard is the bestselling author of THE MIDNIGHT HOUSE, THE MOON GATE and THE GLASS KEY.
She has always loved novels with multiple timelines, ones which weave a complex web that resolve as the reader turns the final page, where secrets lie just beneath the surface (if only the characters know where to look!). She’s also a geologist who explores and maps the earth’s remote places. She splits her time between Ireland, Norway and ‘the field’.
“The inspiration for my first novel, THE MIDNIGHT HOUSE, appeared in the rafters of our Irish home, a two-hundred-year-old stone building perched on the edge of the Atlantic. Hidden there was a message, scratched into wood: 'When this comes down, pray for me. Tim O’Shea 1911'. As I held that piece of timber in my hands, dust clinging to my paint-stained clothes, I was humbled that a person’s fingerprint could, in a thousand ways, transcend time, and I wanted nothing more than to capture that feeling of discovery on the page.
My second novel, THE MOON GATE, is set across three locations: Tasmania (the place I grew up), London (where I lived for years in a houseboat on Paddington Canal) and County Kerry, Ireland (my home). Each of these places is special to me and I hope the settings, as much as the characters, will reach out from the page and reassure you that – in this world – you are not alone.
Finally, the inspiration for THE GLASS KEY appeared all the way back in April 2011, when my husband and I bought an island in the arctic. During our time there, we learned a great deal about Norway at war, and The Glass Key pays homage to this, weaving in the struggles of four women in Occupied Norway and the lengths they’ll go to to survive. The book is set on a fictional version of our island. Expect love and sacrifice. Expect tears. But most of all, expect hope."

*Complete Strange Eden Trilogy
Book Title 1: Strange Eden
Book Title 2: The Island King
Book Title 3: Color of Fire
Genre: Historical Carribean Fiction
Format:
Signed - Dedication is Available
Bids Accepted: USA & UK Only
Book Title 1: A Sweeping Caribbean Saga
Everything familiar to Eliza has been ripped away. Even worse, the cruel deed was done by her own hands.
Nassau, Bahamas, 1791…
Eliza Sharpe, recently wed to a mysterious and brooding soldier, departs for the West Indies with him to begin their new life. Once there, she realizes their marital arrangement is ill-fated and that she has made a disastrous choice. Charles, the man she finds herself bound to, is nothing short of a monster.
On their very first night in New Providence, her innocence is irrevocably shattered. The walls of her new home hide a dark family secret, and Eliza realizes that the freedom she sought within marriage is a worse cage than the constraints she faced before.
Eliza struggles with her new existence, her exposure to Charles’ explosive temper, the brutality of slavery, and her isolation as she tries to grow accustomed to life on distant shores. The only source of comfort she finds is swimming in the startlingly clear ocean, an activity Charles expressly forbids.
As she attempts to flee her deteriorating situation, an unexpected encounter with a beguiling stranger named Jean offers a promise of escape. Despite the dark rumors that swirl around her recent acquaintance and his mysterious past, he captures Eliza’s interest, and ultimately, her heart―with deadly consequences.
On an island where nothing is as it appears, Eliza is confronted with the harsh realities of living on the fringe of empire, of womanhood, and the overt corruption that festers in the governor’s mansion on the hill. Will she ever be able to secure her freedom―and possibly even find redemption in love?
Book Title 2: The Island King
He once destroyed everything she loved. Now, only he can save her from ruin.
Can she forgive, and even love, her enemy?
In this dark, immersive tale, the author of STRANGE EDEN returns to colonial Nassau to continue the story of Eliza Sharpe’s volatile marriage to Charles Sharpe.
1792: In the aftermath of her lover Jean’s death, Eliza harbors a secret that threatens to make her fraught situation even worse. She is carrying his child. But when the clairvoyant slave Cleo comes to her aid, the solution holds devastating consequences.
Charles, meanwhile, is engaged in his own secret dealings. When he reveals his plans to Eliza, she is forced to do the unthinkable: to reframe the man she’s viewed for so long as an enemy, into an ally, perhaps even a friend.
Perhaps more.
Events directed by Lord Dunmore’s insatiable greed threaten to destroy their shaky reconciliation. Clandestine political meetings emerge as the other colonists seek an end to the corruption on the island, and they turn to Charles for leadership. But the governor of the Bahamas wants him dead, and he’s hired the perfect man for the deed.
Can Eliza forgive the man she once viewed as a monster? Or has the desperation and darkness that lurks within the walls of Pleasant Hall finally driven her to madness?
Book Title 3: Color of Fire
“And I thought you were my savior in my darkest hour. How very wrong I was.”
1794: Devastated by the violent disappearance of her husband, Charles Sharpe, Eliza struggles to save Pleasant Hall from the hands of crooked creditors and the governor’s greed. In the aftermath of the attack, her husband’s enemies have branded him a traitor and declare him dead.
But an unlikely source carries knowledge that he still lives, and he alone knows who has taken Charles. Eliza’s desperation drives her to form an alliance with the king of the underworld himself: Captain Hiram Bruin, a notorious man who is more pirate than privateer.
Eliza’s death has been ordered by Lord Dunmore, and Bruin himself tasked with the deed. But Hiram Bruin has never been a man to follow orders. He offers her passage on his ship, the Fortuyne, and his personal protection. In her hour of distress, Eliza accepts—for she has no other choice.
Bruin takes Eliza on a dangerous voyage from the island of New Providence to the wild and untamed Saba, and finally to England, where her journey started three years ago.
Eliza endures her new sinister reality, one where death creeps ever closer, and quickly learns that the only monsters at sea are men. Ensnared by the salt air and damning secrets, one thing is startlingly clear: Bruin wants to take everything she holds dear. For the roots of revenge lie deep…
Will Eliza be able to save the life of her husband before it’s too late? What price is she willing to pay for his freedom? And can she escape this unimaginable nightmare, fueled by a man of unspeakable cruelty?
Color of Fire is the dark, thrilling conclusion to Gina Giordano’s sweeping historical epic, the STRANGE EDEN Trilogy
The Author:
Gina Giordano always had an insatiable curiosity and a penchant for history. Born in New York City, she is a writer, artist, and a conjurer of the past. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a master’s degree in historical fiction from New York University and has traveled to sixty-seven countries across the globe. When she is not climbing ancient ruins or exploring forgotten palaces, she enjoys swimming with sharks in remote pristine waters. Her debut novel, Strange Eden, was longlisted for the 2023 Bath Novel Award. Strange Eden and The Island King have both topped the bestseller chart for Historical Caribbean & Latin American Fiction on Amazon multiple times, and she is grateful for the support of readers like you.

The Book:
Oxford, 1920. For the first time in its 1000-year history, the world’s most famous university has admitted female students. Giddy with dreams of equality, education and emancipation, Beatrice, Otto, Dora, and Marianne move into neighbouring rooms on Corridor Eight. They have come here from all walks of life, and they are thrown into an unlikely, life-affirming friendship.
But Oxford’s dreaming spires cast a dark shadow: in 1920, misogyny is still rife, influenza is still a threat, and the ghosts of the Great War are still very real indeed. And as the group navigate this tumultuous moment in time, their friendship will become more important than ever.
They knew they were changing history. They didn’t know they would change each other.
The Author:
Joanna has always loved stories – even from an early age, when the Headteacher complained to her parents that she had read all the books in the school library. Joanna went on to study English at Exeter College, Oxford and later returned to the University to train as a teacher.
After ten years in education, she set up an award-winning poetry gift business. During this time, she wrote thousands of poems to order and her rhyming verse was filmed twice by the BBC.
Unable to resist the lure of the classroom, Joanna recently returned to Oxford University to study creative writing. The Eights is her first novel.

By confirming your bid, you commit to buy this item if you are the winning bidder at the end of the auction and you agree to the terms of this auction.
SIGNED IN AS :
When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
