Tatami Tray designed by Nada Debs
Inspired by the vibrant colors of modern Japan, this tatami tray is made of a traditional straw weaving technique typical of Japanese flooring framed with the craft of marquetry. W50 x D23 x H2.2 Nada Debs, of Lebanese origin, was raised in Japan. She studied Interior Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and started her first design company in the UK designing and producing custom furniture. After a 40 year hiatus, Nada Debs’ Levantine spirit brought her back home to Beirut where she discovered that designs for modern Middle Eastern furniture were almost non-existent. This made her determined to create the East & East concept, fusing Eastern tradition and minimalism, where her multi-cultural approach caught the appeal of the global design world. Based in Beirut, NADA DEBS designs are represented in the USA, Canada, UK, France, UAE, and Saudi Arabia and recently in Tunisia.
