Wiltons invites you and a guest to join them for a glass of champagne on arrival, followed by a 3-course meal and a bottle of sommelier selected wine at their famous restaurant in Jermyn Street, London. Wiltons, established in 1742, has consistently enjoyed a reputation as the epitome of fine British dining in London. George William Wilton provided the finest oysters to the traders of London’s Haymarket. In 1942 Olaf Hambro (a regular to the restaurant) was dining when without a warning a bomb landed near St Jame’s Church in Piccadilly. As history has it, the owner Mrs Leal folder her tea towel, unpinned her apron and then proclaimed that she no longer wished to live in London and wished to sell Wiltons. At the end of the meal Olaf was asked how he wished to proceed and he replied “put the restaurant at the end of the bill!” and she did just that! The following day she packed her bags and left for Cornwall where she remained. Wiltons combines a modern philosophy on service with all that is traditionally British to create the perfect dining experience. Wiltons continues that tradition and continues to serve the finest oysters, seafood and game and still remains owned by the Hambro family today.
