The flight deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth comes in at an enormous four acres and will be used to launch the fearsome new F35 Joint Strike Fighter fast jet.

Richard is the husband of Westbourne House teacher Shirley Whincop, and has been a professional artist since the mid 1990s. Exhibiting widely at galleries and art fairs throughout the UK and Ireland, his commissions have included a set of history paintings for an outdoor museum in Calabria, Italy. A move to West Sussex in 2010 renewed his interest in landscape painting, which he enjoys alongside figure painting and portraiture. In 2016 he won first prize in the Surrealist section in the American Art Awards, and in the same year became an accredited Arts Society lecturer. The Gliding Heritage Centre is a charity based at Lasham Airfield near Alton in Hampshire. The GHC is responsible for an extensive vintage glider collection, it's aim is to restore, preserve, maintain, display and where possible fly vintage sailplanes. We have more than fifty gliders in the collection many of which are still airworthy and fly regularly which makes our collection unique.

This prize is for a tour of our hangars and workshop for you and up to six people followed by a winch launch for you in a 1950's open cockpit two seat Sligsby T21b with a qualified instructor and if the weather is good enough a soaring flight as well. Expect to be given control of the glider during the flight! If you don't soar and enjoyed the first launch then you can have a second one as well!

I love teaching all levels, kids (ideally aged 9 or above) and adults. My goal would be to make you or your children addicted to watersports or (if you/they already are) to help move to the next level.

I have no teaching qualifications other than having got all my kids (and a few friends and their kids) into it – see photos of my kids below. The previous winners of this prize are now windsurfing legends!

I can provide all the kit required (at any level) for one person at a time (maybe two, depending on what you want to do) and we’ll sail either in the harbour or at West Wittering.

Depending on the time of year, you might see the rare purple emperor butterfly, hear the intoxicating song of the nightingale or the cooing of turtle doves. Above you, white storks circle in the skies or swoop onto their nests – the first storks to breed In the UK for 600 years.

In spring, our large herbivores have piglets, fawns, foals and calves at foot. By autumn, when the deer rut begins, the landscape echoes with the bellowing of red stags and fallow bucks as they clash in titanic battles for mating rights.

PN VZ15 is the first wine in a new series that will be released every year, always with a focus on one of Bollinger’s Pinot Noir crus, or villages. PN VZ15 is the first cuvee added to Bollinger's permanent range since Rose NV in 2008. Each year the cuvee will be an expression of a different cru from the base year that highlight's its distinctive terroir and taste. PN VZ15 highlights the village of Verzenay (VZ) which makes up 50% of the blend with the balance from Aÿ, Bouzy and Tauxières. The blend features 80% from 2015 and 20% of Bollinger's reserve wines from 2009 and 2010 from Verzenay. Eighty percent of the grapes are from Bollinger's own estate.

2006 Château Lynch-Bages, Pauillac, Bordeaux
Ch. Lynch Bages, a Cinquième Cru Classé, is one of the best-known Médoc estates and has always had a particularly strong following on this side of the English Channel. The wine can be surprisingly soft and approachable when young; however, when fully mature, it develops a succulent richness and a heavenly bouquet of minty blackcurrants and cigar boxes. As Oz Clarke says, “Lynch Bages is impressive at five years, beautiful at 10 years and irresistible at 20.”

This is a remarkable 2006: voluptuous and sexy, its massive tannins are cloaked by the hugely concentrated, ripe, cedar-y, brambly fruit, while the sweet, rich, toasty aromas add an extra je ne sais quoi. The purity of fruit on the finish is sensational too. Certainly we cannot recall Lynch having been so far up the Bordeaux quality ladder in any previous year.

The cake will be made several weeks before Christmas and regularly "fed” with more brandy to allow it to mature into a delicious, squidgy cake, before being iced with homemade marzipan and rustic royal icing.

Aaaah this delicious cake will give you time to wrap those presents, peel the potatoes and have a cheeky glass of eggnog or two by an open fire. These cakes are in high demand and have created much competitive bidding in past auctions and village fêtes.
