Earlier this year, to tease their brilliant new album ‘Foreign Tongues,’ a strictly limited edition, one-sided 12-inch disc featuring lead track ‘Rough and Twisted’ was released under the Stones’ occasional “secret” identity of the Cockroaches. Only 1,000 individually numbered discs were pressed worldwide, and they've been changing hands for well over £1,000+ And this one is signed by both Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood!
UK music journalist and author Paul Sexton (who wrote the authorised and acclaimed biography of Charlie Watts, ‘Charlie’s Good Tonight’) has interviewed and written extensively about the Stones for more than 30 years, including in a recent Sunday Times cover story. Sexton is a patron of the Sound Lounge, which is just one block away from the pub in Sutton, south London, that was formerly known as the Red Lion, where the band played some of their earliest shows in late 1962 and early ’63.
During his recent interviews, Paul asked both Mick and Ronnie to sign his copy of the Cockroaches disc, numbered 00014, and is donating it as a unique prize for this auction to raise money for the Sound Lounge. You can sometimes get what you want, so get bidding!
