Free Palestine, 2023 Screenprint on Fabriano 300gsm 297x420mm (A3) Open Edition By Nadia Malekian
Drawn and then screen printed by hand, this artwork repeats the message of ‘Free Palestine’ which is woven into the traditional motifs found in a Palestinian keffiyeh. The repeated words and symbolism of the keffiyeh together form an unmistakable call for Palestinian liberation.
Nadia Malekian is an architect and artist from Glasgow, with Scottish and Iranian heritage. She currently lives and works in Copenhagen.

This amazing thobe, from Fawwar refugee camp in the Al-Khalil (Hebron) area, is an elegant example of the art of tatreez stitching. Each thobe has tatreez unique to the area it is stitched in and has deep roots in Palestinian culture and art.
This thobe was gifted to an UNRWA volunteer, Alex Klaushofer, in the Fawwar refugee camp around the year 2000. It was gifted by the owner of the thobe, so has deeply personal meaning to the gift, and the volunteer remained friends with the family who alongside this generous gift, were very hospitable to the volunteer during her time in Palestine.
Alex has now donated this thobe to our fundraiser to continue passing on goodwill and benefiting Palestinians in a tangible way.
Al-Khalil tatreez traditionally features inspiration from nature, as seen in the tatreez on this thobe with the cypress trees and floral patterns throughout.
This unique thobe has been verified as hand stitched by Beesan Arafat PHD.

60 x 90cm acrylic on deep edge canvas, 2024 by Mark Webster
The painting uses the form and tropes of a stained glass window on a bare stone church wall to depict scenes from the genocide in Gaza. We see a central image of a mother and child, referencing Madonna and child, walking through rubble, and scenes depicting death, horror and amputation of mostly children against the top backdrop of a cityscape ablaze, while two rockets form the bottom edge border . There are the familiar Palestinian symbols: watermelons, which surround a bullet hole in the glass, and in red and black, the keffiyeh pattern which derives from Palestinian fishing nets. The title STAINED GLASS holds the double meaning of 'stained' as both coloured and tainted.
Mark Ernest Webster is now a self taught London based painter, and sometimes poet, having taught secondary English in various London schools and in Africa. In another life, Mark has been an actor, handyman, playworker, world traveller.....and once served in the Royal Air Force. He is currently working in oils on paper and unstretched canvas.

Heron in flight, ceramic plate by Lucy Ogden
H:26cm W:26cm D:1.5cm
“One of the things herons symbolise is a bridge between worlds as they are equally happy on land as in water. Seems poignant me. We seem to inhabit a world of injustice and cruelty but just over there, within reach is world of peace and harmony. I believe in that world.”

This beautiful pair of wine glasses were handcrafted in Hebron, Palestine.
The ancient city of Hebron has been a beacon of artisanal glass-making for over two centuries. Hebron's glassmaking tradition is more than just a local industry - it's a living testament to Palestinian cultural heritage. Each piece of Hebron glass carries within it the stories, skills, and artistic vision of countless artisans who have kept this craft alive through times of hardship and change.
No two pieces of Hebron glass are exactly alike. The handmade nature of these products means that each item you purchase is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
By using recycled glass, Hebron's glassmakers create beauty from what others might discard. This sustainable approach adds depth and meaning to each piece, whilst supporting this centuries old artisanal industry in Palestine.

Stuffed Vine Leaves Saved My Life by Nadia Sawalha, signed with a personalised message from Nadia for the highest bidder!
In Stuffed Vine Leaves Saved My Life, Nadia Sawalha offers an authentic taste of the family kitchen. Growing up in an Anglo-Arab home, she learned, from an early age, the importance of feeding your family fabulous food. The mantra was always 'Good food, cooked with love, feeds the soul as well as the body.' Every recipe in this book has already been enjoyed at the Sawalha kitchen table, having either been passed down through the generations or created by Nadia for her family and friends - from the Great Mussakhan, a delicious dish of roasted chicken, onion and spices, to her own must-try recipe for fabulous falafels. But there is always one key ingredient - every dish must have a story. These stories, woven around the recipes, are peppered with the voices of a long and eccentric cast of family members. Just by opening the pages and dipping in, you'll feel as if you've been invited to one of the noisiest, funniest and tastiest family meals around.

When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another
member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new
maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
