Artists at Home Christmas Online Charity Auction 2022
Read more ...The cost of living crisis is having a very real impact on the less fortunate within our community. So members
of Artists At Home would like to give something back this Christmas by raising
money for local charity, The Upper Room, which does so much for the homeless.

Our
generous artists are each donating a minimum of 50% of the winning bid price to
The Upper Room. And some artists are donating 100% of the proceeds which
means all the money goes to charity. You can see the % in the description of
each individual lot.
There are
no reserve prices, but starting bids are set at a discount to the artist’s
usual selling price.
Bidding begins Wednesday 16th November 2022, 10am (UK) and closes on Sunday 27th November 2022, at 9pm (UK).
Once the
auction has closed winning bidders will be contacted
directly by Jumblebee for their payment. Once payment has been received
the agreed percentage will be donated to The Upper Room, and any balance
returned to the artist. Postage (extra) or collection to be arranged
separately between winning bidder and artist.

This is a small, wheelthrown, dark stoneware posy vase measuring 7cm high and 11cm wide. It has been carved by hand and glazed with a satin matt charcoal glaze which was then scraped off the raised sections leaving the indentations darker. The effect is rather like that of aged bronze.

Burlington has been a long-term fascination and and when the Fine Rooms at the RA were reopened around 2005 I was given access and permission to photograph the space. I spent many hours looking and working on studies for a possible painting, and this print is almost the final image for one. I put the missing mirrors back in the frames and extended the enfilade to include two extra rooms. Although very happy with this new view I never, as yet, made the painting. But Burlington, his work and his collaborations with other architects still fascinate me."
