Rob has been playing bridge since the age of seven, taught by his father, Nicholas Cobbold, who was the chairman of bridge at Whites. Robert was the Keeper of Bridge at Eton College, and after university he apprenticed for two years with Zeb Stocken in London. Zeb helped set up the Andrew Robson bridge club and Rob teaches using the same teaching method.

Recently Robert has set up SLAM! - a pop-up beginners bridge club for young people, and is hosting a luxury bridge holiday in Montenegro this April (ask for more information).

Since the band was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, they have sold over 70 million records worldwide, with hits including Red Red Wine and (Can’t Help) Falling in Love making them one of the most successful reggae acts of all time.
