HOW TO BID
To place a bid click on the item, enter your bid and click on "Bid Now". If you are not already signed in you will be prompted to register (with your email, phone number and password) or to sign in, if you already have a jumblebee account. These details are requested so that you can be contacted if you are the winning bidder and will never be passed to a 3rd Party.
Once you have signed in you will be asked to confirm your bid - at this point you can uncheck "Show my name" if you would prefer to remain anonymous for that bid. If your bid is successful you will see a "highest bidder" message on the screen and you will receive a confirmation email. If your bid has been successful but you are outbid later you will receive an email informing you and inviting you to bid again.
PROXY BIDS - WHAT ARE THEY?
This is the equivalent to leaving a bid with an auction house if you are unable to attend the auction. It is the highest amount you are prepared to bid to secure the item. A proxy bid is any bid higher than the minimum bid required. If you make a proxy bid the system will try to win the item for you at the lowest price by bidding only the minimum increment required to win the item against another bidder.
Some high value items have reserve prices which are currently undeclared. When you bid on one of these, you will be informed by email if yours is the highest bid, and whether you have met the reserve. If you have not met the reserve, you will be invited to bid again via a link. At the close of the auction, if you are the highest bidder but have still not met the reserve, you will receive an email informing you what the reserve price is, and offering you the opportunity to bid up to the reserve price to secure the item.
This online auction will be open for bidding until 8 p.m. on Thursday 2nd July 2015. The winning bidders will be informed immediately by email, with instructions on how to pay for their prizes and redeem.
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
